When I went to re-register it, I had to renew the old registration or else pay the sales tax. This is even though they collect sales tax when issuing the title. Hello Alan, I hate to butt in, but was this a SN95 'stang? If so, you would really have to gut it to get it to 3300. A lot of the Fox coupe drag cars weigh in at 3000 to 3100. For Fox GT's and convertables add another 200 pounds. I'll have to go looking for this issue.... Regards, Craig Klingel ... [----------^^^^ you said the above ^^^^-----------] I did the same thing on mine when I had it, brought premium gas and it really made no difference. Like you, I was hoping to clean the injectors but my problem was elsewhere. If the fuel filter is like mine, then you'll see it as a large soda can sized filter. BTW, use the right tools to remove it as you can kink the line easily(I did that) jeezzz what a pain. If you really think it's the TBI, then go to the junk yard and get another setup. I'm sure the Buick, Olds or even Chevy used the same setup. To be sure, look in a Franklin's manual for cross-reference. The TBI themselves should be interchangable, maynot the mounting carb setup though. good luck -_-_-Bill --- * Origin: Bordertown - Telegram from the Border (1:234/43) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 246 AUTOMOTIVE Ref: F1E00016 Date: 01/10/98 From: BILL REYNA Time: 11:00am \/To: JASON WEDEHASE (Read 0 times) Subj: Question > You know what it could have been? If you were buying a car for scrap or to part out, then it wouldn't matter much because you wouldn't have to worry about title or registration. What I did find out about this was from listening to a talk radio show talk about it where the show's host was fuming both about the fact that notaries are getting sucked into playing a regulatory role (just like inspection mechanics did) but also about the unfairness of it all, with how the notary was the one charged with determining an "appropriate" price for the car to have sold for. As far as how they would actually deal with the situation you describe, I have no idea offhand. This is so typical, though, of all of the regulatory crap that's getting shoved down our throats any chance they get, isn't it? email: roy.j.tellason%tanstaaf@frackit.com --- * Origin: TANSTAAFL BBS 717-432-0764 (1:270/615) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 246 AUTOMOTIVE Ref: F1E00018 Date: 01/09/98 From: ROY WITT Time: 07:08pm \/To: JASON WEDEHASE (Read 0 times) Subj: Tire Width On, 08 Jan 98 at 11:19, Jason Wedehase was overheard shouting over the engine noise, saying something to Devin Dimitri about "Tire Width",: JW> Devin Dimitri told the story like this: JW> DD>> Ummm, don't quote me, but aren't the regular tires like 10-11 DD>> inches wide anyhoo?
