John, 100-110 in Phoenix is not enough difference in heat from the 95-100 that occurs in Dallas to warrant using 20W-50 or 10W-40 over 10W-30. I personally use 20W-50 Castrol in both my vehicles. Either of the other two grades should be perfectly OK for NORMAL driving. Basically the heat to be worried about in not the ambient temperature heat, but the heat generated by the use of the engine. Example: I went to 20W-50 for my Ford van 460 V8 because I tow a travel trailer (16,500 CGVW) and often in the mountains in the west. Now that generates lots of heat! * OLX 2.1 TD * Open Windows and let the bugs in! --- RemoteAccess 2.50+ * Origin: Northern Lights! * San Antonio * 210-499-6299 V34/VFC (1:387/23) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 246 AUTOMOTIVE Ref: F1A00039 Date: 01/05/98 From: JAY EMRIE Time: 05:06pm \/To: ROY J.
