I decided to do without at test at 90 My understanding is that if a person puts their foot on the brake pedal and absolutely NOTHING happens, setting the emergency brake will lock up the rear wheels (thus the longer stopping distance) allowing for steering control of the front wheels. He had quite a clearance (trajectory and telemetry work at White Sands as a defense contractor through Emerson electric and was in on the design and implimentation of the ILS and OMNI) and could land at about any base around the world. (allied) All of this in a little old house trailer sitting on 40 acres of land in the middle of Central Illinios. Between the house burning all the way into the cellar and alzhimer's setting in we have lost a lot of history from the old guy. He used to fly to work from Vandalia to St. Louis and back each day.
