We have the same car, and the carb isn't that complicated. What is a "one-off" carburetor? Our Corolla's is a fairly conventional 2-barrel spread bore, second barrel opened by vacuum. A neighbor suggested spark plugs, sure enough, that was the problem. 2 of the plugs were fould out so bad that there was no gap for the spark to jump across. The others were not quite as bad, but were still in bad shape. With the new plugs, it runs as good as new.
