The problem with that is, it has RW>to work so hard to get there. And it only produces 156 lb/ft of torque vs RW>the C5's 350 lb/ft. Torque moves a car, horsepower keeps it moving, RW>remember? Agreed, thats why I get sick and tired of the "Oh, but your engine is bigger then mine," stuff from the import and Mustang owners. To me, thats the car buyers fault for buying a $25,000 car with a 2.2l torqueless engine in it! As far as the Mustang vs. FBody wars go, they are a joke. The new LS1 FBodies are faster then the Cobras, thats a fact. They run consistent 13.3-13.8s stock. The 'worst' time I have heard was a 13.8 at 102.XX MPH. That was an automatic Trans AM with 2.73 gears! The 4.6 DOHC Ford engine gets the same gas mileage, weighs more then the LT1 and LS1 V8s, and produces less torque. People say, "But the Ford makes the same power with 1.1 less liters." On paper it might, but not in the real world, and its not even close in torque. oRW>I've heard that Honda is producing some V8's for import now. Lets wait and RW>see the technology they use on those... It was black and tinted out, very nice car, but it may have well been a Neon as it drew no attention. With that crowd (college kids about my age, 21) a C5 Vette would have drawn a bit of a crowd. This past summer I spend quite a bit of time at Belmar (beach in South Jersey) and we would see an occasional C5 parked. It always drew a small crowd or people pointing at it, checking it out. I've been having a lot of fun the last 2 weeks or so. I caught 2 M3s on the GS Parkway last week. I assume they were both together, one was black, the other silver. Both lightly tinted out with racing stickers on them. All 3 of us nailed it going 65mph. The silver M3 must have been stock, we started pulling off him a bit. The black one was a bit quicker though, he ran me to uh, lets just say I think his governor came into play. You figure it out:) We slowed down and he waved and gave me the thumbs up and I did the same. Thats the way it should be, he respected my car and I respected his. I had to turn off, otherwise I think he would have pulled over and we would have chatted a bit. I'm not sure what he had done, probably similiar mods to my own, (K&N, exhaust). The silver M3, well, he should have opened up the BMW motorsport catalog before he decided to try and run with us:) It was the closest race I have ever had (with the black M3), I don't know which car was faster. From 65 on we stayed right next to each other. I couldn't pull out a foot from him, and him the same.
