In the first, it could have been a bad connection right at the battery. In the second, it could have been the same thing, but I doubt it. There is a lot more potential for a spark when trying to crank the vehicle then there is just lifting the hood, and the hood light coming on. Second one has me baffled. Ronnie in NC ...
