I wish your buddy would have had the opportunity to get the first shot in... !!! I don't mean in ANY way to trivialize the loss of your friend (just the opposite), but it's a shame that 'Oakland' is getting this far North - we see it increasing EVEN on this side of the Mtn ! It's getting to the point that if you don't have a Rottweiler and an Uzi (or Glock) at your side, it's nearly impossible to keep your family and what belongs to you safe... Good Lord in Heaven (and everywhere else), this makes me ANGRY!!! Maybe this would be a good springboard for a discussion about the various methods/models of vehicle protection (electronic, etc) for use on the older iron. I'd like to hear what others have found that works well (of course, "Gun Control" (ie sight picture and trigger squeeze) is always a good deterrant ;). KL> --- Virtual Advanced Ver 1 for DOS KL> Ocean View BBS, Napa Valley, CA. (707) 257-2235 1:2002/290 BTW: Hello Neighbour... Ever had your rig at the Lake County Revival ? I look forward to seeing you 'OTR' (On The Road) when the old Do'g (a '52 Dodge Panel Van) gets back online. A friend of mine (builds circle track racers) has a small machine shop in his garage, and as soon as he's done with the latest project (in a week or two), he says he's going to bring the 'slide-back' down here and load up the rig - take it up to Nice and get some motor mounts fab'd for it, get the engine mounted AND running (Oh Happy Day!). So hopefully, by the end of this summer, it'll be OTR again... Maybe we'll have a chance to sit down to a cup-o-jo sometime... Drive defensivly, and God be with you. Oh, dang! Sorry to hear about your friend. I just lost a friend to a violent death myself. It does make for `bummer' memories. But! I'm going ahead and doing what we had already planned to do this summer anyway. We'd planned to restore his `Willy's' Jeep together. (He was going to call the Jeep `Sophilthy II' but now I'm going to call it `JJ's Sophilthy II' instead because until we parked it we *always* had good times with it and *those* are what *I* want to remember.) Now... While it may not be true for everyone... I'd recommend that you may want to look at it in that type of light. The wheel of life keeps on turning. *I* figure that I had might as well enjoy the ride. Doleo Ergo Sum, HALFPINT --- XAP 1.08 * Origin: Look at the colours on that one!
