Brit police. This is the fifth or so book of a series but the first from this author I've read. (I think. Somehow I have her connected with a non-mystery book about Russia and the Napoleonic Wars, but I may be wrong about that.) I like this book okay. Does that sound sort of lukewarm? I guess I feel rather lukewarm. Interesting plot, lots of good dialogue (a funny bit when several detectives are present at the autopsy of a man who is - was - uh, very well endowed), some believable relationships - what's wrong, you ask? Sigh. I want to CONNECT with the characters. whine. Well, I'll read more of hers and she goes on my B list. Slight warning - it's a very British book. Some slang I didn't recognize even though I read a lot of books written by British authors. And something about the PACE of the whole thing was unfamiliar to me. Sort of awkward.
