How many of dr> you die hard mystery fans have read any of Elizabeth George? FT> Hi Dorothy!!!! FT> I read "Missing Joseph" and hated it! But she is a very popular Hi Suzze, Haven't read that one yet. Why did you hate it? Want to know because I was thinking of checking a couple more of her books from the library and that was one on my list. The two I read, dealt with killing or kidnapping children. Is "Missing Joseph" another one about a child? If so, Idon't want to read it. I just started Ken Follett's "The Third Twin." I hear it's very good. I always liked his suspense books. My favorite was "Eye of the Needle." He's not a mystery writer per se, but I suppose suspense novels are kind of lumped into the mystery category. Most mysteries are full of suspense, and vice versa. dr> Now, I can truthfully say, "I'm a Writer," Yeah. FT> Yippee! Congratulations!!!! Thank you. It's been a long struggle, but beginning to pay off, at last. I know this is off topic, but have to share some more good news. Have been asked to submit some of my writings to a follow on book to the "Chicken Soup for the Soul for Women." They called me. Isn't that great? No guarantee they will be accepted, but it's flattering to be asked. Of course I'm going to find time to keep up with reading mysteries, and other stuff too. (G). Nice talking to you, Suzze. How is Kevin Robinson coming along? Guess I should send him an e-mail message. I get so caught up in all the things I'm doing, time passes rather quickly. If I don't write down stuff to do, I forget. Well, gotta go. I'll be back very soon. Cheers, Dorothy ... Most of us are more sympathetic with gluttony even though it's mortal, and bearing false witness is only venial. Perhaps we rank them differently because most of us rely on the ten commandments. sin, in religion, unethical act in disobedience to a personal God. In ancient Israel, there were personal sin and national sin-usually idolatry. Some Christians hold that all acts are good, indifferent, or sinful; others that there are no indifferent acts. Roman Catholics are required to confess mortal sins, i.e., those committed with knowing and deliberate intent in a serious matter (see PENANCE); other sins are venial. She is better at characterizations than at plotting it seems to me. 'Strangers...' harks back to her first book 'The Suspect' in that the book opens with the murder, and you know who dun it. I really enjoyed her last book 'A Touch of Panic' with all the intertwined plots, and I really ike the character of the sneak thief, and the hook of him wanting to become a cop at the end. Have you read the other Wright, Eric that is, his series is set in Toronto. I haven't seen any new books by him in quite awhile.
