Maybe because I am on the Stephen ST> King echo and that is all we have talked about for ages! It came ST> out the week of the 3rd. Ah, not being a visitor there anymore, I didn't catch that. ST> Speaking of discounts, last week I went to Waldenbooks. I had $40 in ST> certificates (I use a Waldenbooks Visa), and they had a "buy 4 books ST> get the 5th free". A couple of them were 25% off (including The Cobra ST> Event) I got 5 books (4 hb, 1 trade) for $13. Sounds like a good deal. Fortunately, I didn't see that around the outlet I visited. Yes, if a series starts well, I stay with it for awhile, even if it sags a bit, hoping the writer gets going again. Perfection is preferable, but not expected. Finished Saylor's ROMAN BLOOD several days ago. It was a good read, and the atmosphere was convincing. I will read others in the series, no doubt. I'm reading Batya Gur's SATURDAY MORNING MURDER, which is actually the first in her "Michael Ohayon" series. I would rate that an excellent read. I have now included Gur's works in my "Don't wait for something to show in a used book store, but get it when it first appears" list. FINISHED: Robert Silverberg.
