So many bizarre things go on that I totally forgot that Sara discovered a body on the private road leading to the company (on the first page). Then I picked up another book by Westlake, and it was dreadful. Can't recall the title, something to do with the film industry and perhaps not even a mystery. Stopped reading after 20-30 pages. --- PPoint 2.00 * Origin: Point of No Deposit, No Return (1:153/404.11) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 244 MYSTERY Ref: DFS00005 Date: 11/18/96 From: JAN MURPHY Time: 10:36pm \/To: FRED RUNK (Read 5 times) Subj: Re: Brother Cadfael by Peter Okay, Fred, I'm confused now. Have you seen I, CLAUDIUS, or haven't you? -) You mentioned that Derek Jacoby was in I, CLAUDIUS. I then proposed Brian Blessed as being more the right physical type, and said: > JM> more like Brian Blessed, who played Caesar Augustus > JM> in I, CLAUDIUS. Now you say: > As I mentioned in an earlier post, I don't recognize the > name Brian Blessed. Well, re-wind I, CLAUDIUS back to the beginning, before Caesar Augustus gets murdered, and you'll find Brian Blessed there. You'll also find him in Branagh's film _Henry V_, in Branagh's _Much Ado About Nothing_, in Kevin Costner's _Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves_, and the 1980 _Flash Gordon_ I have a sneaking suspicion that he's also in John Boorman's _Excalibur_, but that's probably because half the known British Theatre world is in there somewhere. Every time somebody hits it big (Helen Mirren, Nicolas Grey, Patrick Stewart, Liam Nissan) you see a repeat of _Excalibur_ and hey presto, they're in there. --- Opus-CBCS 1.73a * Origin: Sci-Fido II, World's Oldest SF BBS, Berkeley, CA (1:161/84.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 244 MYSTERY Ref: DFS00006 Date: 11/22/96 From: FRED RUNK Time: 10:37pm \/To: HELEN FLEISCHER (Read 5 times) Subj: Books -=>While in the White Hart, Helen Fleischer explained to Fred Runk that<=- HF> ACK! that makes me feel downright old and grey!
