Now you're probably asking yourselves: "What GIVES here? This is nonsense!!!" Reply: "Precisely! And that is EXACTLY why it works!!" Every time I try this on a computer, after manually making the first 2 moves for white, I let the computer play itself to see what may come of this opening. EVERY TIME White wins!! Why??? 'cause no computer has yet to be programmed for sheer nonsense! (I suppose.) Try it yourself and see what happens! In case I got the notation wrong (which I doubt) it is (verbally): move the pawn in front of the King's bishop forward one square. Next move for white is to move the King to where that pawn started, in front of the Bishop. the next moves that the computer usually comes up with are nC1-D3, or pE2-E3 (or -E4). I've even seen the black computers make queen sacrifices for no apparent reason during the play of these games. It's called "the Fred." Worth "checking" into ! ... It would, first and foremost, be dependent upon the concept that all participants can receive -both- echos at their choice of BBS. It intrigues me to think that there might still be sysops only carrying one or the other echo, and perhaps we need to motivate them to resolve that dichotomy as well, but I'd not want, under any circumstances, to deny anybody the right to participate in a game, or lose access to valuable 'information', because they could only get one or the other echo. DA> What do others think of this? (I'm cross-posting this to CHESS DA> also). CHESS dudes -- speak up!
