And I thought it was Southern Cal that always had mild temperatures. I've never been to California. New Orleans area weather is ever-changing, too. People often blame cold and flu epidemics on drastic weather changes. We're having a stretch of cool, dry weather. For me, that's always a welcome change. Our winter temperatures don't compare to the freezing temperatures of the northern states. I worked at the N.O. Int'l Airport for 11 years before moving to the country, and many people who visited this area during the winter said they couldn't wait to get back to the freezing temperatures back home. I guess our humid cold kind of chills to the bone. As for our summers, there were similar feelings expressed by visitors. Many said that they could feel the humidity when the plane started it's descent. I don't know about that but I know that when you step off of the plane into the terminal, the humidity seems pretty thick.
