Don't see DR> as many messages as I used to. Guess everyone is busy reading mysteries DR> :} DR> Have a question. Does anyone know if Susan Isaacs has written more DR> than one mystery? I'm a fan of hers and have read a lot of her other DR> novels that aren't mysteries. But picked up one called Magic Hour. Her DR> protagonist is a police detective by the name of Steve Brady, tough, DR> reovering alcoholic. Haven't read anything by her yet, so I can't comment. I read more of the English police procedurals, such as PD James, Martha Grimes, and Colin Dexter. Right now I'm PLAYING FOR THE ASHES by Elizabeth George. It reads more like a mainstream novel than a mystery, although there has been a murder. There's also two different plot threads that are parallel, but so far haven't met. DR> Just re-read this message to All and discovered I'd left out the DR> "c" in recover and misspelled humorous. And this from a person who DR> received A's in spelling while in school. That loud sound you hear DR> is my English teacher rolling over in her grave. That's what I get DR> not proof reading before sending. (Hanging head in shame). DR Well, I use a spelling checker to help me out. (PS. I teach composition and literature). ... Is anybody out > there, > or is Fido burying messaages in the yard again? Coming through loud and clear in Roch. Just finished Sharyn McCrumbs' latest, The Rosewood Casket. It's written in the same tone as She Walks these Hills. It had a lot of Daniel Boone folklore which I could have passed on, but the mystery and dialog with Nora Bonesteel was quite good. It's been a long time since I'd read Peggy-o and Hangman, so I'm going back to reread them, now that I've seen how all the local characters developed. Started Mary Higgins Clark's newest and was so put off by the first chapter, that I never finished it. I managed to get about half way through but didn't think it was worth the effort. I suppose it was meant to grab the audience...instead it reminded be of a Poe story I had read as a kid and scared the daylights out of me. <<< Debbie >>> --- GEcho 1.00 * Origin: chocolate, Chocolate, CHOCOLATE: Roch, NY (1:2613/321.1) -> SS> I am a BIG Patricia Cornwell Fan!! -> -> FR> Tell me something about her.
