So, we put some EASY BOOTS on herto take the pressure off the bottom of the foot, thus making it much more comfortable for for her. Sham's boots look funny -- and, at first she was RAELLY "high stepping" (looked like a cat that you put booties on -- the way they walk ). BUT, she got used to them in a hurry. In fact, I think she really likes her new "booties" . Now about Bren -- he has bad feet too -- and, his doctor prescribed some boots that he must wear every night to bed -- he calls them his "moon boots" ...... SO, Bren AND Sham now have "moon boots" to wear --- * Origin: Jean's Trick Horses (Or is that TRICKY??) The had the cutest banner that they put on the back of our carriage -- it read: "Just TROT over to NATIONS BANK We don't HORSE around " We were in about the middle of the parade. It was a HUGE parade -- lots of floats and stuff. We used SEDONA to pull the carriage. The wind was blowing SO hard (at least 50-60 mph) but that didn't seem to bother her. What DID bother her was the length of the parade ...... my "wimpy" horse got "pooped" out by the end of the parade. We would have used Mr X but we'd had trouble with his shoes. Other than breaking some breeching strapping (THREE times) all went well (PHEW -- that was enough that went bad ). At least we didn't break the strappings until the end of the parade .... BUT, we had to drive back about 5 miles to where our trucks and trailers were parked. Buddy pieced it together from other parts we had with us. That stuff never should have broken -- we had just had everything checked out and redone at a leather/harness shop the onth before (just before the LaBelle Swamp Cabbage Parade). Tomorrow we are going to look at a draft horse (the Belgiun I was talking about before). They are selling his harness stuff along with him. We'll see if he's what we need tomorrow. That's it ...... story of the Spring Parade -- don't know if we will do t again ..... it was pretty well organized to begin with -- but getting back to where we had left our vehicles parked at was a nightmare!! --- * Origin: Home of Mr X's 'XTRAORDINARY CARRIAGE SERVICES! His name is BIG JIM ...... he's a 17 hand tall Belgian Draft horse and he's now a permant resident of BYTE SIZE ESTATES. He's tempermant is very VERY doctile ....... stands very still to be harnessed up ..... pulls a wagon like there's nothing behind him. The people who we bought him from had body clipped him -- and didn't do a very good job of it either ... he looks ragged because if his clipping ...... they roached his mane too. He has a little rain rot (that looks like it's healing but does still need some attention) and he's underweight (hips are thin -- ribs showing and his whithers are high and look like it needs some "meat" on them. These people told me that they had bought him a little less than a year ago and he was really in bad shape when they got him. His feet are sound -- and he's just been recently shod -- up to date on his shots and negative coggins. He looked at me and melted me (even as ugly as he is right now ). Sooooooooo, he's here ...... I know with the right kind of love and attention he'll be BEAUTIFUL in time !! Besides, the price was right -- and he came with is own draft harness stuff too! --- * Origin: Home of Mr X's 'XTRAORDINARY CARRIAGE SERVICES!
