GREAT .... at least it's dry somewhere. It's so wet here that hay is at premium ..... no one can cut the hay (too wet), and, if they could cut it, they couldn't get it out of the fields. I've just discovered that all horses do NOT smell alike ..... some smell like "horse" .... others have a musky smell, oily smell, or animal smell ...... *I* can't tell which horse is behind me by it's smell .... or I can tell which horse is in which stall with my eyes closed. Now, the scarey part .... SEDONA smells just like "Baby" -- and, it was o overwellming yesterday it brought tears to my eyes. I just buried my face in her neck and held on to her. Fortunately, SEDONA is very patient with me and will stand perfectly still for all this nonsense . Has anyone else noticed this uniquic "horse smell" with their horses?? Here it is going on 2 years in June since I lost "Baby" and I'm still having tears from time to time ...... oh well . --- * Origin: "Baby" - Gone but NOT Forgotten! I couldn't ride almost at all, when it was frozen rock-hard and icy. At least now it's covered with some snow, so one can go on. > I suppose El Nino is to blame ...... Manitoba is lucky that way, no precip. change and slightly higher temperatures predicted, and it seems to be true, certainly the winter is a lot warmer this year than last. SEDONA smells just like "Baby" This 'scientifically' explains your love at first sight and the strong bond you formed with Sedona so quickly - at least on your part. Pheromones. They are very powerful force in all nature, and you are lucky that you noticed the difference, most of the time people don't have as discerning noses. Horses of course smell much more keenly, and with luck they like your smell, too. You are fortunate (and deserve it, too!)
