What a nice note! Wasn't that great!! She sent me a letter the other day - said there wasn't a minute she didn't think of SEDONA. She's having a terrible time trying to find another horse. Right now she and 5 other ladies are in France riding on an 8-day ride (must be nice to have enought $$$ to just pick up and go do something like that ). I truly love SEDONA but I had some "flashback memories" about "Baby" last night -- I just cried and cried (I'd found some pics I'd forgotten I had). Here it's been well over a year and I'm still crying over her ..... I read some article in EQUUS that other people had written concerning their losses of their beloved horses -- they evidently feel the same way I do so I suppose it's not the uncommon. > JP :> She TOLD me that she was looking for the "right > home" > JP :>for SEDONA .... Nope, arlready closing up and I'm just keeping her in a furicine wrap and letting her be lazy in her stall. Best to keep that leg quite so it can heal faster. Movement would inhibite the wound healing because of the movement of the joint. Not a bad idea.. if you can find someone like the gal that's training that Palomino baby. > BK :>The kid is unreal Meg.. still small.. but she's unreal. :) > Sure sounds it! Got a good one there, Bob! Well she is.. and I just figured out that one of the reasons she keeps sticking her head up in a fast trot is because she wants to break into a lope.. (yes I'm certainly not perfect either.. chuckle.. should have seen it sooner). I don't want that just yet.. I will by the weekend. Got on her tonight cold and high on purpose.. didn't work her enough last night and I wanted to see how manageable she'd be high.. some mild spooking.. but we went to work and she's being good when I want to visit and make her stand and wait.. still stuff to work on.. she still likes to walk off when I get on, etc etc.. but nothing ciritical. :) And without much work.. got her down to a decent trot with good head position! :) Don't need to yank on her at all.. best just to talk to her, giggle the reins to keep her attention most of the time. She's also in a roaring heat right now.. and very affectionate.. likes to groom my hair when I'm grooming out the front of her.. ;) I just found the second Camera that Mike gave me.. will get them washed and pictures taken asap.. don't know about Mommy.. she's looking pretty seedy right now. ;) > BK :>STILL downhill at the moment.. but her butt is about eye > BK :>level for me and I"m 5'8". > Have you measured her? I'd have to say that Tush is easily up to 15.1 at the tush.. how tall I'm not exactly sure.. I have to find one of those tapes.. :/ However I'm certainly wondering if the withers will ever catch up with the tush. Mom is level when she's not carrying any excess weight.. however when you let her carry some weight.. she looks downhill. I hope the kid isn't going to be downhill.. that would be a dissapointment. :( BK --- DB A3000sl/001347 * Origin: * Conniption BBS * one fit at a time (1:102/861) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 243 HORSES Ref: EDU00003 Date: 09/24/97 From: JEAN PROPHET Time: 06:29am \/To: BOB KOHL (Read 1 times) Subj: Horsekeeping costs >>>-> Smokey is moving this Sunday.
