I got your messages, as well as Meg's and Mike's. And to make things worse, last time I was on here I was replying to a message from Meg and the computer went bananas and I lost where I was and when I came back up I was clicking the mouse all over and switched my desktop to an alternate, Norton desktop that my beloved horseshoer had set up for my convenience. Only thing was I had no idea how I got there or how to fix it. Fortunately, my roommate fixed it before I got home the next day. I am still a little afraid of this danged Windoze thing. JP> Got the "postcard pics" today ....... Very nice indeed!! JP> I lOVE your place!! Cool - that makes two of us! Okay, I take that back - everyone but Dean who sees the place says it is ME and loves it too! Not as big as what you and Meg have but it is much better than I thought I could afford. JP> Now - question -- WHY do you hate the Date Palm so much JP> ......??? 1. It cost me a FORTUNE to have it trimmed enough that we could tell what it was! 2. It is ugly...especially with all those little shoots that are FOREVER growing around it. 3. I -think- it will shed dates, right? 4. Any other reason that YOU have for hating date palms! I will keep the fan palm as, although it sheds those seed pods once a year unless you remember to trim them, it is less messy and actually provides some shade. Can you see the 30+ foot high palm tree on the left side of the house? It provides an enormous amount of shade and covered parking, too! I can't remember the name of the famous racing sire that was put out to pasture down in Ky in the late 80's/early 90's.. but this was also the reason he foundered and had to be put down.
