Doesn't mean I don't love Fiddle and Shiloh, it's just not the > same. Well look slike we'll be having a few that will go down in the next year or so.. Amy, the TB with EPM just came out of remission and had one of the most violent seizures I've seen in a long time. She starts spinning in her stall till she hits her head and darn near knocks herself silly.. I was on Tush at the time and had to hope off since I was worried about Tush spooking and getting Elaine out of the house to deal with it. This is not good.. since there's no real way to deal with these as far as I can tell, unless they keep the horse medicated on some anti-siezure drug.. Then there's Mike the Percheron.. Neat draft horse with rotation in both back feet... and now he's started badly on one of the front feet. He's a game old bird (19 I think).. but it doesn't really look good in the long run.. but then there's folks who are supprised he's still going after the way he rotated in the back feet.. the way he's shod in the back in amazing.. Ah well.. And CJ hasn't been good with her rear right.. been kinda ouchie lately.. I wish the budget allowed some adequine... but we'll just have to work through it and keep an eye on it. She came up lame about a week and 1/2 ago. Just going short on her right front. Got a little worse so I called the vet. We haven't really found anything definite yet...all flexion tests, etc. were negative. No heat, no swelling, no reaction to hoof testors, so sign of definite injury, etc. However, she does have a knot on her right fetlock just in the area of the sesmoid bone. Vet thinks it might be calcification on the tendon or on the bone from an old injury. He's even said it could be an old fracture!! How that could be, I don't know as I've had her since she was 6 months old, and would have known if something like that had happened! Anyway, he took some films last night, and we should get the results today or tomorrow. This is NOT fun! So, anyway, I'll let you all know as soon as I know anything more..... Horses!!! Argggghhhhhhhhhh!! What a wonderful pic to have, Meg ..... she's waiting for you to join her someday as I know "Baby" is waiting for me. I found the most wonderful pic of me and "Baby" ..... I had it enlarged and it now hangs in my living room. Like you, I pass it everytime I enter the living room/kitchen. My eyes are drawn to it almost automatically. The pic is of us -- me standing at her head (kinda' on her left side) and her head is sort of "wrapped around" me. I'm holding a red ribbon ..... we had either been in an open Mare's Halter Class or a Grooming and Conditioning Class. "Baby"s ears are perked forward and she looks sooooooo beautiful!! I was so lucky to have found the pic -- and then I found the negative (and the negative had a 1993 date on it). Thanks for your message back, Meg ... I know you understand how I feel ..... we WILL be united with our wonderful horses someday -- I really believe that! --- * Origin: "Baby" - Gone But NOT Forgotten!! NY requires you to have one every 2 years. You must have a current one to trailer a horse anyplace in the state.
