DT :>complain any DT :>more except about not being able to see the road due to DT :>dust blowing DT :>across it. Wind is much better than snow!!!!! How do you DT :>stay warm when DT :>the power is out. Do You have a wood buring stove or what? Go ahead and complain...it's all relative! We have a fireplace in our living room. We lit that and a bunch of candles. Actually (don't tell the weather gods I said this!), it was kinda fun for a change. Mike (my son) and I played a few games...he beat me at everything...and with the candles and fireplace, it was sort of romantic. Luckily, it didn't get below 30 or so that night, so we survived just fine. Lots of extra covers on the bed! The main problem was that Richard must have some kind of noise (TV or radio) on at night to get to sleep...it was pretty funny watching us scramble for batteries to get our little portable TV going (g). He was starting to panic, but I found enough of them. DT :>don't remember that being much fun. Do I need to hide my DT :>head in shame DT :>if I tell you how nice this weekend is suppose to be? Nope...it was 75 here yesterday! The weather's been really nice since the storm...mostly 40's and 50's, but that's just fine. It was a pretty slow melt, so we didn't have any major flooding problems. And having seen the pix of N. Dakota...well, I'm not complaining about what we went through! I have ridden since I was 3.. Am very good EP :>and am not EP :>riding a 5 yr old trackee. But, could any one offer me EP :>some advice on EP :>how to get started? The pony is VERY sweet, LOVES people EP :>(was bottle EP :>fed) and is about 13 hh. ANy advice would be appreciated EP :>greatly! It depends on what this pony knows already. Is he/she ground broken...does it know the basics of in-hand stuff? If not, that's where you should start. If so, then you're on to getting it ready to ride...need to get it used to saddle/bridle, etc. Then some lunge work (does it know how to lunge?). Then, finally, when it's ready, backing. There are a number of really good books on the market that explain all this. Check out your local tack shop or the catalogues that sell horse books (Breakthrough is good). I love Welsh ponies!! When I was a kid, it was my dream to have one...I think because they look like little Arabians. And, Welsh/Arab is a really nice cross.... Good luck with the breeding. Hope all goes well. If you need help as you go along with this pony, let us know. We'll all be glad to offer advice!
