However, my eldest is 23.5, and I've put up with the -> horse thing from her for about 19 years now. She got her first horse bout -> 6-7 years ago, a thouroughbred, but it died (brain hemorrage) maybe 4-5 -> years ago, so about a year later she bought a quarterhorse stud with the -> insurance money. A couple of years later, she bought a filly yearling -> quartherhorse at an auction. She really lucked out, as the filly has grown -> into a fabulous mare (her words). Last summer, she went deep into hock, and -> signed the mortgage for 40 acres, a 1250 sq. ft. house, garage, barn, and -> tack shed, about 10 miles west of here. Then my other daughter, 11.9, -> decided she *HAD* to have a horse of her own, so the two of 'em together -> ganged up on Dad. Well my daughter is 21 now, she will be graduating from RIT next year hopefully. (I don't know why I say hopefully she has a 3.8 gpa right now). She talked us into her first horse at about 12 I think. It was also a TB mare. Had something go wrong with her back though and was never right again. She then talked a breeder into letting her lease (free) a Norwegian Fjord horse from him. Well I am sure you can guess the rest of this story. Yes we still have her and no she isn't still free! Even Dad fell in love with this one. I did find out from all of this that if you really want to get close to your daughters, horses are a great tool to use to do it. I think it is real sad o see all these kids at horse shows all the time and maybe you will only see a handfull of fathers there. Yeah the mothers go but the ones that have the whole family there are the lucky ones in my eyes. When I look back I can remember an awful lot of good times being spent in the aisle of some old smelly barn with the wife and kid and some good old horse people! -> I wouldn't know what a leopard Appaloosa was, except I heard the girls -> talk about it. As far as horses go, my mind's a sponge (shaddup Kohl), nd -> I soak up what I hear. Unfortunately, when it's squeezed out, it usually -> doesn't make sense. :) Well stick around here then and you will soak up some info I am sure. I did.
