When I got there I joked around for a bit with a few people when I heard that there was a camel across the street.. sooo.. being curious I went across the street to see if it was true.. The gal that owns Straw has a boyfriend that works with a company that has a compound where they keep and train exotic animals for TV/film.. and sure enough.. there was a very young camel named Lilly... Now I've lived for 2 years in the middle east.. camels are VERY nasty animals with nasty dispositions.. and they will try to hurt you if so inclined.. and camels and many other animals.. just don't get along. However.. this 6 month old camel was the sweetest thing you'd ever want to see.. social as can be.. very sweet.. very people oriented. Tom had brought Lilly down to see if they could get Straw sociable with Lilly.. So after playing with the camel for a bit.. a light when off in the old brain pan.. and I ran across the street and grabbed Tush.. It was bad enough that I brought her out stone cold and took her across since she's usually a tad high when you first bring her out.. and she's never been across the street where we were.. But I eased her slowly up to the fence.. and while she woldn't go near Lily.. she'd at least stand there... finally. So I started playing with Lilly.. the camel really liked playing lip games with those pre-hensal lips.. and slowly but surely.. Tush got interested/jealous.. ROFMLAO.. the kid finally touced noses with Lily.. It was almost OK till Lilly decides to talk about it.. in that wonderful fog horn voice they have.. Tush really didn't care for it.. I didn't know the kid could back that fast.. ;) Tush finally got resonable settled around Lilly.. but it was funny since she was high for the rest of the day.. Same went for Straw who was looking for the camel later when I was working him.. he was also unusually spooky.. CJ went WIDE EYED when she smelled the camel on me.. every horse that could smell or see the camel was upset.. two stopped eating, one got colicy.. Tush never really skipped that much of a beat. ;) What a silly day. :) Oh yes.. thanks to Mike May.. I think I have pictures. :) BK --- DB A3000sl/001347 * Origin: * Conniption BBS * one fit at a time (1:102/861) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 243 HORSES Ref: E2L00003 Date: 02/16/97 From: BOB KOHL Time: 01:05am \/To: BOB KOHL (Read 1 times) Subj: Re: an interesting afternoon P.S...
