I have seen pictures of the place after a big one -> and it was of a guy standing next to their only traffic light. Yes I -> did say NEXT to it!!! Im' not sure whether to say YIKES or BRRRR and I'm sure glad I don't have to dig that out. We go areas that have Amish and Menonite(sp) farms on -> both sides of the roads. I would love to watch that. No one seems to use horses like that around here. I would like to try driving (not a plow though). I've keep saying I'm going to get Smokey a harness and teach him to drive. -> BTW, when I wrote to you before I thought you might be the Debby -> Taylor who uses one of the bbss that I use here in Southern Maryland. I run into that a lot. I live in a town of 23,000 and there is another David W. and Debby Taylor on our street just 2 blocks away. I don't know how many times I've gotten their calls. We use the same doctor and pharmacy too. But, yesterday here was -> gorgeous! It was in the low 40's with plenty of sun and no wind! 40's? Thats winter here. Of course when we have 40's we also have fog unless we have some wind. -> was in the low 40's with plenty of sun and no wind! I like it in the high 60's low 70's. Its warm enough I don't have to wear several layers of clothes and cool enough I don't sweat if I'm dressed right. Did you ride Fiddle or do ground work. Sounds like you had a great day. How BIG are these horses (g)? 16+ hands. They are the horses that don't get out often. The one horse has been boarding out there for better than 6 months and I've never seen the owner. She had a baby 2 or 3 months ago and has hired one of the girls to clean her stall and turn her horse out occassionally. The horse if for sale. I'm going to have to take a tape out and find out just how big they are. But they look huge to me. However, if we could have that nice, warm weather, a -> few seasonal changes, and the look of New England...now that would be -> heaven!! Any place like that on earth? Yeah, Hawaii the Big Island or Maui. Both of them get snow in the winter(on the mountains) both of them are green and they both have fall colors, but not like New England, both of them are warm and they are both expensive with Maui being the most expensive. Its easiest to keep horses on the Big Island. At least, I hope so. My best friend -> loaned YIPPEEE!!! I'm happy to see you. -> I am staying with my aunt; she is very nice and it almost feels -> like home -> but I found the place that I want and made an offer on it. It has -> horse privileges but no horse setup, and right now I am pretty happy -> with where they are so I am in no great rush to move them. It is a -> lot that has almost 1/2 and acre, with irrigation, and is very -> centrally located. It's got TWO houses on it, a 3 bdm., 2 FULL bath -> house with a dining room, etc., as well as a guest house with 720 -> square feet. Which is almost as big as the first house I owned was! -> It's also got a full living room and full bath - the full bath part I -> am particularly happy with as I am tired of HAVING to take showers -> when what I REALLY want is a BUBBLE BATH! It sounds really nice. I'm really thrilled for you. I understand about the bubble bath. There is nothing like not being able to have one to make me really NEED one and they are great when I've overdone it. Its great that you don't have to move your horses immediately too. This way you can take your time. I don't know about you but I hate being rushed. -> to do yardwork! Oh, yeah, the trees there are HUGE! Both houses are -> slump block so they won't need to be painted. And both have fairly -> new heating and Whats slump block? Is it what we call concrete block. -> One problem, on this end, though - I can only get on the modem -> after my -> aunt goes to bed, so my participation here may be spotty until I -> move. But I am so excited! Well at least you'll get to participate. I'm excited to for you. Keep us posted. But I am still wary, -> his feet aren't that great to start with. I would be wary of that too. It has a lot of lime in it and that burns. I put stall mats in the fron of Smokey stall. He doesn't trip going into or out of his stall that way but he still digs holes in the rest of it. Well I sure hope that solves the problem. I wouldn't want to pay for a full examination. This Friday was beautiful and Dave took some time off and we went to the barn. Then Saturday I had a meeting and Dave went to the stable and worked Diva then rode her for about and hour, then he spent an hour or so shedding Smokey out then rode him for a couple of hours after that. He's been doing mainly ground work with Diva this winter and he hasn't rode much at all. Its really funny. He is walking like a little old man with arthritis. He can barely push the clutch in on his car. I should be ashamed of myself, I've spent the whole evening laughing at him. I'm not though. I really feel sorry for him between snickers. I've heard that Tom Dorrance is suppose to be in the Merced area in March. I'm checking on it and will give you what information I can come up with. A girl at our horse show last Saturday was riding the most beautiful Appaloosa I'd ever seen ..... and he was soooooo BIG too!! The girl said she usually showed him dressage ...... but today she just wanted to ride western and she wanted the horse to be around other people, horses etc besides at a dressage show. Boy, he WAS awesome for sure!! We both rode around the grounds together ..... I had taken X back down for the afternoon session -- just to ride him around. My friend was going to ride speed (not me ). X and I had a wonderful time just riding around the grounds with our new friends!! --- * Origin: Home is Where the Horses Are!!
