MM :>Well I haven't been to NM yet but AZ was a little dry for MM :>my taste. I need a MM :>little more green around I guess. The desert isn't my MM :>thing. I thought the best thing about Phoenix was Vicki! I didn't take to the desert all that much either. Liked it further north..looked more like New England (g). However, if we could have that nice, warm weather, a few seasonal changes, and the look of New England...now that would be heaven!! Any place like that on earth? Hey, I'm BACCCKKKKKKKKKKKK! At least, I hope so. My best friend loaned me her 386, with Windoze 3.0, no less, and I was LOST. I bought a new fast modem for it, couldn't get it to work, so I swapped the new modem for a USR Sportster 14,400 that I could not get to work. All three programs that I tried to use (ProComm, QModem, and Telix) showed that it was online when it wasn't. So I did some swapping with Dean and ended up with his old 486 that at least has OS/2Warp on it, so I am starting to feel back at home. I am staying with my aunt; she is very nice and it almost feels like home but I found the place that I want and made an offer on it. It has horse privileges but no horse setup, and right now I am pretty happy with where they are so I am in no great rush to move them. It is a lot that has almost 1/2 and acre, with irrigation, and is very centrally located. It's got TWO houses on it, a 3 bdm., 2 FULL bath house with a dining room, etc., as well as a guest house with 720 square feet. Which is almost as big as the first house I owned was! It's also got a full living room and full bath - the full bath part I am particularly happy with as I am tired of HAVING to take showers when what I REALLY want is a BUBBLE BATH! I already have mental plans to fence in the whole thing with an electric gate out front, maybe get a miniature horse or two and a llama so I won't have to do yardwork! Oh, yeah, the trees there are HUGE! Both houses are slump block so they won't need to be painted. And both have fairly new heating and cooling systems. One problem, on this end, though - I can only get on the modem after my aunt goes to bed, so my participation here may be spotty until I move. But I am so excited! --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: The Union Jack BBS, Phoenix, AZ, USA. 602-274-9921 (1:114/260) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 243 HORSES Ref: E2D00017 Date: 02/08/97 From: VICKI NICHOLS Time: 11:15pm \/To: MIKE MAY (Read 1 times) Subj: Re: snow -> > Well of course we went. My communications program does weird things when I try to follow the instructions. OF COURSE the whole state shuts down when it snows here, Mike! Seriously, no one was expecting the amount of snow that we got right before you got here. Hey, I appreciate the maps and cameras you sent - and your mom's note, too. I will save the maps and return them to you next time you get tired of the snow again and decide to come out here and thaw out! --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: The Union Jack BBS, Phoenix, AZ, USA. 602-274-9921 (1:114/260) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 243 HORSES Ref: E2D00018 Date: 02/08/97 From: VICKI NICHOLS Time: 11:20pm \/To: DEBBY TAYLOR (Read 1 times) Subj: Re: youngsters -> Now wait a minute (g)! Pun the expression, killing two birds with one stone........ I do, too. Dub paws in his stall and Lori is constantly filling up the holes as he seems to get shorter and shorter and shorter every day. I read in an older horse magazine that you should fill the holes with mixed MORTAR, that it isn't as bad as cement.
