In the fall when the pasture grass had lost most of its nutrients, I have been giving my colt 1/4 cup Corn Oil (I have seen this topic mentioned on this echo lately) and it did seem to improve his coat tremendously..I look at a lot of things as to do things in moderation, and be careful not to over do it!! Just like people, every horse is different. My colt being an Appaloosa, his spots are coming out whiter and brighter...(just kidding...I am starting to sound like a TV ad for laundry detergent)!??? Both are big on riding stables and clubs/academies. -> My son, 4 years old, says he's saving his money to buy a horse some -> day ( secretly Dad would like to buy one of his own ) but this is a -> long way off. There's still time to save. Don't give up. I had to wait till my kids were grown to afford my first horse. I took my first riding lesson at Kettering about 20 to 30 min from Landover. They had several arenas and the main trail was several miles long through some beautiful countryside. We are backkkkk.... We had a great time on the trip. We did have to make a few detours along the way due to closed roads (for snow of all things, in CA!!!). But everthing worked out ok, we got to see everything we wanted to and more. We even were able to stay in the El Tovar hotel at the Canyon instead of the Maswik that we had the reservations in. It was a real nice place. And the service was great. Your right about Vicki Meg. You wouldn't believe that a trip to the top of a mountain would cost a few hundred dollars now would you? Did you know that the Indians out there still attack? Now they attack your wallet though... Ask Vicki about this story. I wasn't able to get any pictures of either of Bob's horses Meg. He took us to see them after dark. He does have the means to take some pictures of them ow though so keep bugging them. Tush is looking pretty good from what I could see of her. She sure is a friendly little kid. -> OK all you Western types...now that Mike and I will have made it out your -> way, how's about you guys braving the cold, snow, sleet, wind, etc. of us -> Easterners and wending your way this way some time! You could even come n -> the spring (mud) or summer (heat/humidity/bugs)! I think that is an excellent idea. In fact Vicki di mention wanting to visit some of our historic type areas. You have a lot of them around you Meg. He does say -> "WALK ON" to start him off in a walk (but then I do the same when I want him -> to walk when I'm riding him). Well it is more common to use that term in driving.
