Well that's not the point.. let's just say that sometimes managament has an attitude towards the union... and the steward can often be the one that catches the grief.. if you know what I mean.. Oh well she'll give you the serious once over the first time looking for food (1st preference) and/or affection.. she doesn't understand such manners as NOT coming up to people and grooming them.. ;) Ahh she doesn't undeerstand human anatomy really well yet.. ;) She also is somewhat attention deficient right now with the cold.. and she doesn't play with anyone thing for to long.. she wants to see, test and taste everything! ;) BK --- DB A3000sl/001347 * Origin: * Conniption BBS * one fit at a time (1:102/861) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 243 HORSES Ref: E1B00013 Date: 01/06/97 From: BOB KOHL Time: 01:19am \/To: DEBBY TAYLOR (Read 1 times) Subj: Re: Winter? > -> The arena's are just starting to dry out.. but they're still tricky. > Dry? Well CJ is an interesting case.. I found in certain areas she's better off riding at night when she can't see all the boggermen waiting to get her.. ;) It's either that or ride her in an arena where she can see forever.. she usually does ok then. ;) > I rode Smokey, during a break in the storms, while Dave was lunging > Diva then got off and Dave got on him. You could hear that horse > grinding his teeth all over the ranch he was so upset especially since > Dave, the stinker, rode him past the covered arena where we turned Diva > out to roll after being worked. Whew! Boy do you have some charactors.. Cj gets unhappy or even surely about me and the other horses.. but then I usually make it up to her.. Tonight when I went to lunge her I had only gone about 10 minutes at a slow jog to warm her up and keep her head together so that she didn't blow up and get really silly and lame herself again.. Kim (Straws owner) came by and we stopped to talk since I couldn't hear her over the wind... CJ relaxed so much... that I said to heck with it.. and let CJ visit while we talked.. that was pretty much it for the day for CJ.. will have a good amount of time to ride her tomorrow. I am originally from here also. My first Appy I owned is when I originally lived here. I might be visiting my gelding next week back here for the weekend. My first Appy was a spotted leopard Mare who had to be put down due to Navicular disease. As only 14 years old, I was very devistated!!!! I told myself that I wanted some day to get another mare. Well, the only breed that I have ever owned is an Appaloosa. If I can get back to the midwest next week, I am hoping to see my mare that I sold to my friend that is in foal to a quarter horse stud that passed away in August. My gelding that is out of that mare looked just like her when he was born (Bay with a white blanket) had changed a lot, color wise). He is still out in the midwest and I plan to bring him out here this spring. Do you know of any good Horse Transporters?? Well we are flying into LA, going to be there a few days (Sat - Wed), then we are driving from there to the GC. Not sure yet what route we will take. ill be watching the weather for that. We are only planning on the South Rim tour anyway. I knew the North would be closed. Well our tickets are all bought o I don't think we will change the plans now to fly to Flagstaff. We are going to leave the GC and then head down to Phoenix. Not sure when that is going o be. we are flexible on the "tourist" end of this one.
