Well, don't know 'bout that -- I would LIKE to do better -- but most of X's "problems" are ME ....I'm trying to take it slow and easy....I finally figured out today that the problem I was having with him backing up was ME -- I was excerting leg pressure making him back sideways -- when I finally figured it out and held my legs AWAY from his sides, he backed up straight and nice ...... when I wanted him to turn backing up just a little pressure on the oppisite side - he was AWESOME!!! We did a figure 8 type backup like a breeze ...... too bad I was giving him mixed signals before -- he must have thought *I* was nuts . > JP :>it slow and easy until I'm really comfortable. I've noticed that when I ride or drive X here lately his bowls seem to be VERY loose ..... it'll get so bad that it'll be just like icky brownish/greenish water down his back legs. This has been going on since I've been working him on a regular basis. He seems to be fine in the pasture. I haven't changed any feed or hay ...... he gets the same kind of horse "cookies" and carrots as before. I don't seen that runny mess when he's out in the pasture. When I'm riding he will stop - expand his belly and sometimes it's gas - sometimes it's semi-firm - and sometimes it's really runny ..... like I said before, this only seems to happen when I'm riding or driving regularily. I've branned him a little extra .... give him corn oil everyday on his feed .... have even gotten some of that psyllium (sp) ..... thought maybe it was a sand colic type thing. Other than the 'runnies' he seems to be fine. He doesn't really seem nervous riding or driving -- he doesn't shake, cowar or any of that stuff you would normally see in a horse that's a little on the nervous side. Any suggestions??? My vet says he looks fine - but then when the vet comes he doesn't demonistrate any of the stuff I tell her that's been happening .... maybe he IS nervous and just doesn't "show" it any other way ..... whatchya'll think?? --- * Origin: "Baby" - Gone But NOT Forgotten!!
