Last night when I went out to turn out Tush for the first serious time since it rained last... the little brat kicked me! Got a nice black and blue spot on my gut.. Well about 10 minutes of manic running around and she settle down again.. My own fault for not being sharp enough to watch out for it.. I knew she was high.. That little snot still packs a punch when she throughs a kick! Not exactly the same thing or reason...the salt actually makes them DRINK more water. They have to drink the water to get the electrolytes! That's why I use the salt. They don't need the elecs., but they do need the water. Now, if they were in heavy training, and it was hot and they were sweating a lot, THEN I'd add the elecs. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink their electrolyte soup :) Merry Christmas!!
