Yep, I know the way they're growing alfafa back there.. John and I used to talk about it.. although I'd keep it in mind that sooner or later the cost of water is going to get very expensive with the continuing growth of the West Coast.. water is going to get tricky in the arid states next century. She's learned to rear.. chuckle. and is going through her rearing stage.. she did that on me while I was leading her and I whacked her good across the lower legs.. only had to do it twice and she stopped. Like CJ knew what the curb bit was for (showing) and what we used for knocking around.. she responded to both differently. Although right now it wouldn't make a difference since she's "Show" worked in any bridle I use. I'd ride her anywhere in a snaffle.. but given she's a lousey trail horse and the trails are really limited without crossing the LA River and then riding the trails in Griffith Park.. I wouldn't even think about crossing the river with CJ let alone riding her in the park. You train the horse properly.. and use the bit in case of emergency.. personally I don't like depending on a bit. A lot of horse do not have a proper foundation on them.. and if they did they've lost it along the way. Of course CJ is a horse I'd never consider driving with either.. :/.
