I just layer up and down as needed. There were a couple of -> days a week ago where I wish I'd had my LJ's.. I still haven't found my coat. I'll admit though I haven't been looking real hard. I find it hard to get real serious about finding a coat when I'm running around in either a sweatshirt or just long sleeves. -> Been in the 60's when raining.. going up to the 70's by the weekend. This weather is great once the fog burns off. If the whole winter stays like this I would be really happy. -> Well I watch this when I ride.. sadly all the horses are going to -> need a decent ride because they're standing in their stalls.. we -> won't dry out until the end of the week/weekend with all the rain -> we've had. After that last storm all the horses are really fresh. Dave lunged Diva before he rode her to get some of the sillines out and to get her to pay attention to him. I just got on Smokey and rode. I asked for a trot and he pretended that I said canter but other than that he was good. I couldn't just let him go since he wan't wearing his boots and he wasn't properly warmed up yet. He has a problem with lameness sometimes, especially in the winter, so I have to be a little careful. -> Haven't you had any of the rain that's been coming through?? Right -> now LA is 1.5 inches above normal rain fall for the season. We've had rain and wind but we didn't get hit nearly as hard as you did. We had some minor flooding in the area but no roads closed or anything. One of the bridges that I cross frequently had a little damage and they are reinforcing it, but it wasn't bad enough to close it and they will be done with it by Wednesday. I have a polar fleece riding vest that I really like. I haven't had any problems with it picking up any more hay than I do with my sweatshirts but I don't do the feeding. I've had my vest for 3 years throw it in the washer and dryer and its still in good shape. Grunge.. ;) Gortex used to be somewhat sensitive about getting dirty.. it brought down the protection at the seams.. can't remember all the issues on this one.. and I'm not so sure that the newer generations have overcome this problem.
