I've never tried English -> riding only Western. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is English riding -> without a saddle? Or riding side saddle? Either way, I would be too -> nervous to ride English. I would be afraid that I'd fall off the -> side. The thing I like about the trail rides is that the horses are -> used to having inexperienced riders, and they are more gentle. I -> know it makes me feel better that the horse isn't going to throw me -> :-). Hi...Livia English riding id done with an English saddle. The one like the riders in the Olympics use, without the horn in front. I like it better than Western because I feel like I'm more in contact with the horse. One of my Quarter Horses doesn't care if you ride English or Western but lets me know by grinding his teeth when he thinks I'm doing it wrong. He will take care of his rider too. I've put very inexperienced riders on him and they've done fine. The only thing my nephew dosen't like is that Smokey will obey my voice commands instead of him. -> There is a riding school at Don Mills and Eglinton, but it's probably -> expensive. I just like horseback riding for recreation not as a -> career. Sometimes that's not true. Group lessons here are only $15 each and they include a lot. But the lessons are horsemanship lessons instead of just riding lessons. You learn to take care of the horse as well as how to ride it. I've found that the more I learn about riding the more fun I have at it.
