I'm riding him now and he also pulls our Amish carriage. I took a pretty bad spill off him last year (wasn't HIS fault - was RIDER error ..... I'm really just recently starting to ride him again. He's now a 5 year old. Then there's PATTI ...... HUGE 5 yr old Paint Mare (actually HER registered name is PATTI'S ATTITUDE) .... and she DOES have an attitude ...... We call her PSYCOPAT ....... Well, most of the time I call her PATTICAKES. She's been here over 1 1/2 years now and she's finally settling down (she'd been badly abused the first 3 years of her life). She's starting to trust me and Buddy but is still rather wary of strangers. Buddy said I'm running a "halfway house for abused animals" . No news service has ever done so much or worked so hard at giving the citizens of the world such a look into the history and life of so many athletes. Phil Donahue is eating his heart out at the coverage that we have seen so far in this years Olympics. Ophra and Jenny Whats-r-name couldn't have given the world so much coverage of the lives of what seems to be each and every medal contender at this years Atlanta games. However NBC's (Not Better Coverage) coverage of the actual games thus far have not even put them in contention for water bearer for the Lower Slombovian pocket pool Olympic team. Folks, I'm sure you know where I'm headed with this. Where the hell are the games themselves. NBC has thus far spent 2/3rds of its on air time doing interviews and in depth histories. If would spend half the time they spent on interviews and devoted that time to the coverage of the games and events we'd be in great shape. But will they. I say to thee. Nay. NOYFLife. Not this year. They got a bunch of yahoo's who would rather spend there time and energies mugging to the camera's and showing us what incredible knowledge they have of each and every event and athlete they have. And too hell with the event itself. Too tell you the truth I've just about had it up to here with beautiful interviewers and they're gift for gab. Hell the commercials are a welcome break to they're innane chater. (I personally liked the one where the bullfrogs hitch the ride on the 'gator) NBC's got me chearing for old Gold pretzel boy. I wanna see so games. Where's the Esquestrian events, the boxing, the track and field, the anything other than the damn pretty people. Hey Dr. Kovorkian where are you when we need you. The progaming director at NBC sports needs your assistance. If I have to see one more replay of that girl writhing in agony over a twisted ankle, I'm gonna scream. If want agony I'll turn on the evening news. What I want is sports, events, coverage of the games themselves. PLEASE Sorry 'bout that but I had to get it out of my system. I feel much better now, that isn't true btw, but I felt obligated to say it. But now that I've gotten that out of way. How are ya'all doing? I hope fine. Clem ... I'm taking advantage of the Olympic lull in my real estate business to get reaquainted with some of the things in life that I enjoy. Equus is one of those things....as is riding my horses. Atlanta is really a strange place now that the Olympics are here. I haven't ventured too far away from my home since it all began. I've seen what all of you have seen on television so far. The equestrian events they have shown have been production numbers, not events!! I have tickets to the Grand Prix Special Individuals Dressage Finals on July 31 and then the Freestyle Finals on August 3. I'll let you know how those go. I know it will be REALLY hot! We'll see what we can stand, then leave. I've been by the horse park, but never got inside prior to the Olympics. (I know, I needed to MAKE time for something that important!) I can't wait to see what everything looks like! I wanted to get tickets to a jumping event, but didn't get any. I know that there are tickets available here and there, but I think I'll just go to see that which I have tickets to already and be happy about it. Has anyone noticed that they aren't planning on televising any dressage competitions? Doesn't that stink? Laura * LND 1.0 * Atlanta, Ga.
