Weekend Fun!! -> Yes, that is the place! Boy, what a small world:-) -> There are only 70 residents that live in Stehekin. All goods have to be -> shipped in by boat or float plane. While we were there a -> barge came in and dropped off some stuff. Packed into the middle of it all -> were 3 Norwegian Fjords. They had made the trip like 3 little troopers and -> were not bothered at all when some of the stuff was moved so they could -> offload onto the beach. Three small kids jumped on them bareback with -> halters and a lead rope for reins and rode them back to the corral. othing -> seemed to rattle these little horses. This would be a great place for a id -> to grow up, and there is no crime in this little town! What a wonderful place it must be. I remember a place similar to this in the Adirondak Mtns here in Upstate NY. I can't remember the name of the place right now but it was on the other end of a large resivoir. It was also only accessable by boat in the summer or snomobile in the winter, or a nice long hike. It was only 10 or 12 miles back in though. Sounds to me like a great place for an adult to grow up too! Do they have electric and telephones and all that stuff or are they to far out for all of that stuff? -> We rented Mt. bikes and went exploring. Didn't have time to -> go horse riding, darn it. I am going to make another trip there this ummer -> (if it ever quits raining:) We will either hike in or I will ride Walker. How far back in is it? The judges didn't always agree with me but usually. I did much better scoring this year than last. We were all commenting on the fact that the warmblood horses either had a better than average piaffe or passage but never both. The horses are either built to do one or the other. I enjoy watching the juniors doing the standard tests and I enjoyed watching some of the grand prix riders when the horses did something unexpected. It got exciting there for a while. One of the horses took out a table on the sidelines and scattered a bunch of spectators. The rider rode all this like it was nothing. I really liked that rider. Unlike others when she left the ring (and the judges sight) didn't beat the horse.
