We use this one USR modems _only_ report the DCE speed, never the DTE speed. Don't confuse what a modem may report, though, with what a comm application may display. For example, Win95's DUN will report DTE speeds in some conditions no matter what the _modem_ actually reported as part of the CONNECT. CJ> Charles Jackson In my case v.90 code has made big improvement in x2 connects (haven't tried an v.90 system yet). I have pretty bad lines. Up to now I've only been able to get an x2 connect with ibm.net about 1 out of 10 times. Now, with the v.90 code, I get an x2 connect 9 out of 10 times. Much much better.
