The modem works perfectly fine under dos but will not run under the same programs under 95. It also does not work with the dial-up network dialer under 95. The dropped carriers only occur when reciving data. Such as only when downloading a file from a local BBS, or when a lot of data starts flowing from the ISP though the dialer. Tried installing a fossil driver, tried it without a drive. Tried changing the com port to 57600 8n1 hardware flow from the defult of 9600 8n1 none. also tried 57600 8n1 hardware. Oh, guess I should mention that this is the external version connect to a standard 16550 at COM2 IRQ3. Also tried loading factory profiles (AT&F0 and AT&F1) but no effect. Another intersting point is that when the carrier drops, the system does not seam to realize it, usualy the dial asks if you want to reconnect, but it doesnt, it just keeps tring to shove data. My dos term program does the same (telemate). More info? Umm.. 95 version is reported as 4.00.95 with the ver command, rev a with the /r option. If you need anymore info just ask... Would really appericate any help anyone can offer... I tried just about everything I can think of... Oh, I also sent email to support@usr.com, but of course no reply yet... thanks! -Jamie --- FMail/386 1.02 * Origin: KastlerocK - Jeannette, PA - 412.527.3749 (1:129/230) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 242 USR MODEMS Ref: F1W00019 Date: 01/26/98 From: GENE LOWRY Time: 06:35pm \/To: DIDIER CROKAERT (Read 9 times) Subj: TDA1154 In a message of Didier Crokaert (2:291/706.10@fidonet) writes: DC> I now that's not really the good subject but with other conferences, i DC> don't receive any answer, then with more specialized people, i hope DC> after few months an answer. You missed the intrim step to 1200? You missed a hoot. The 300->1200 step was in the same league as the 2400->9600 a few years later. It was one of those "You've got to see it to believe it" things.
