I'll have a Dual Pentium-II (300 or 333 Mhz) machine at work by the end of the year. Does anybody know if Linux cat get the most of this architechture? Or at least of the dual processing? Thanks! ... TV> What 'ANSI display character sets'? That font that DOS uses? I may have misnamed them. I think I meant to say the various codepage character sets. I was looking for a reference that gave the equivalent ESCape codes for the IBM PC graphics characters and colors, along with any international and/or symbol character sets. TV> > Linux terminal entries seem to be lacking in *complete* TV> > ANSI emulation, which is why programs like Minicom look TV> > funny trying to display it. TV> Linux does support ANSI perfectly, I didn't say that *Linux* lacks in ANSI emulation, I said that its *terminal entries* (you know, in termcap) do. TV> it the M$-DOS ANSI.SYS that lacks the complete emulation. I'll have to take your word on this. I only mentioned ANSI.SYS as a reference, because it comes with MS-DOS, thus it's likely to be the most used ANSI display system. I know others exist, and they might provide better ANSI display. I just haven't used any of them. TV> And also minicom supports ANSI pretty fine. In a character mode console --yes. But, start up Minicom in an X terminal display, and such is not the case. I'm looking to achieve true ANSI emulation from xterm, or any of its clones, which at present, is not very complete. That's why I was looking for the graphics ESCape codes, so I could create my own terminal entry in termcap. Steve Adams * RM 1.31 * Eval Day 7 * --- WC!/IM!/GE-PRO1.20! * Origin: Longbow BBS!
