I never ran it on a 486 so I don't know. I compared with Win 95 version with the X11 version and saw a tremendous speed increase in Linux. (That's why I switched OS's.) The instructions that are with the book seem to intimate that I either have to boot from a diskette, or I have to install LILO. I'd rather not use LILO, and I'm already using OS/2's boot manager for my partition selection at bootup. I want Linux to replace Win95 entirely. Also, it looks like I'm required to have a DOS partition, is this true? I'd rather not waste the space, as I already have a seperate DOS primary partition that I boot to for DOS stuff. I'd like just to be able to selecte the Linux partition from the boot manager menu, and have it boot that OS. Is that possible? | Rev.
