Anyhoo,I had quit this title for over 180 issues, & I must admit, its better now then its been in a LONG time! Hes a very human character, & has to be, the first superhero, who was disabaled! Back when issue #1 came out,it was a great suprise to all to learn he was a blind hero! Im not saying sell your plasma to get this 3 parter, but if you can scrap up the 6 bucks, I think you'll enjoy the ride! --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v2.1d * Origin: The Playhouse TC's Gaming BBS/www.phouse.com/698.3748 (1:282/4059) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 101 COMICS Ref: F4G00010 Date: 04/11/98 From: DAVE JANSEN Time: 03:21am \/To: CHRISTINA JOHNSON (Read 0 times) Subj: Guardians of the galaxy There were 62 issues of this title, with 4 annuals. One should be able to pick them all up, if one looks around, from 25 cents to 50 cents each. I got a pile from #1 up at a garage sale in mint for 25 cents each. Hit garage sales, one finds great bargins at them! I got both x-men 248 & New Mutants 87 for a quarter each at the same one,in nm. A BIG savings over what the comic shops charge!! --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v2.1d * Origin: The Playhouse TC's Gaming BBS/www.phouse.com/698.3748 (1:282/4059) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 101 COMICS Ref: F4G00011 Date: 04/11/98 From: DAVE JANSEN Time: 03:25am \/To: CHRISTINA JOHNSON (Read 0 times) Subj: X-Men/Alpha Flight #1 Hmm, Lets see, Puck is back, a more monsterfied sasquatch, Heather,Guardian or a clone of him, & a few new ones. Theres some pretty hot headed souls out there, who delite far more in picking a fight then in discusing comics, movies, or music, & most on line conferences, are in reality, war zones. Im proud to have found this most excellent of comic conferences, & barring my death, shall write on it for a long time to come, & as long as Im welcome here. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v2.1d * Origin: The Playhouse TC's Gaming BBS/www.phouse.com/698.3748 (1:282/4059) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 101 COMICS Ref: F4G00013 Date: 04/11/98 From: GARY LAU Time: 02:49am \/To: DAVE JANSEN (Read 0 times) Subj: japanese comics re: about Ranma I haven't seen any of the Ranma books or videos in a long time. Is that a vidio or comic? I've never seen one of the vidios, but hope to eventualy. One could blow 300 bucks to get all of them. DD> DD> Then again, maybe it's a matter of acquisition costs as well. Frankly, I'd rather see it in the Japanese style of right to left pages. Saves alot of trouble. Why don't they just dub the cartoons first? And is t true that the already ended SlamDunk series might have the chance of eturning with a sequel? I heard it ended only because the author needed a rest. It seems that without Dragon Ball, Shueisha Jump hasn't really been the same lately. But one comic I really enjoyed is Rurouni Kenshin. Wanted to see he anime but never got the chance to. Can't afford 19$ Canadian for each pisode on VCD. DD> I've heard of it, but I haven't bought any of it yet. So far, I've only DD> seen an episode of the anime. It reminded me of Lupin. I read about the DD> live action movie, but haven't had a chance to see it. I saw a picture DD> of some of the actresses in costume. It looks pretty good. I haven't had good look at the comic. But it start with a anime intro. upin looks too weird for me. Didn't like Gon either. Can't imagine why DC Comics distributed the American version. Didn't really have the need. it has no dialogue. It's said to be the "return" of Yuki Uchida, a Japanese actress/singer. She hasn't been as popular as before until she filmed this movie. DD> I saw Jackie Chan's performance in the live action City Hunter movie DD> though. I wasn't too keen on it, though it was funny to see Kaori's DD> 1000 ton mallet. I saw that too! But I recommend last year's remake of it. It's called "Mr. Mumble". For some reason, they couldn't use the CITY HUNTER logo. But it's loosely based on the comic book. It was more convincing than the Jackie Chan version. But some of the names may be different because it was translated thru the Chinese names, not the Japanese. In HongKong, Ryu is named "Maan-Ball" (or mumble). Speaking of which, his latest WHO AM I is out on video. I don't know if ou'd be able to get the video at place you're at, tho! --- Renegade v10-05 Exp * Origin: Garfield's Domain Toronto, Ontario (1:250/801)
