I have been informed that I made a couple errors in E2L8, so I have corrected them and I will re post the entire series for all three episodes one more time. Meltdown Secret Areas LIST OF SECRET PLACES FOR "L.A. MELTDOWN" EPISODE OF DUKE NUKEM The following is a complete list of all the "Secret Places" in the first episode of "DUKE NUKEM 3D". It consists of all the "Secret Places". If you do not want to know where the "Secret Places" are, please do not read the rest of this message!! Level 1 "Hollywood Holocaust". (8 Secret Places) 1.) Look to right at level beginning to find a large crate. Jump up on top of crate and then jump up to sloping ledge. From there, jump up to ledge below the "INNOCENT?" sign where you will find an RPG gun. 2.) Jump back down to sloping ledge and move forward to one of the windows on the left above the ledge. Jump through the window. 3.) Behind the poster of the babe in this room, you will find steroids. 4.) Jump over the counter in the lobby. Press the cash register and a cove will open high on the wall to your right by the poster of the babe. Go stand under the cove and push the wall. An elevator will take you up to the cove for some armor. 5.) Go through the door to the right of the bathroom and up the stairs. To your right in the projection room, you will see a fire extinguisher. Push on the wall to the left of the extinguisher. Inside is ammo, a cocooned woman & a viewer. Also you will find an entrance to an air vent that can take you to the bathroom. 6.) Back in the projection room, jump on top of the projector for healing. This will open a door in the wall where you find RPG ammo. 7.) There are two ways to get to this secret area. While you in the projection booth, hit the switch to open the curtains and start the projector. You will see the screen is cracked. You can blast a hole the screen from here with an RPG and go downstairs and go through the screen. Behind the screen are a Jetpack & ammo. Or you can either jump down or jetpack from the walkway over to the Auto Destruct button, to a ledge and then through the window on the left of the walkway. Either will take you behind the screen. 8.) Jetpack up to the window right behind the "M" in the movie marque. Go through the window where you will find Pipe Bombs, RPG gun, Shotgun & Chaingun. Level 2 "Red Light District". (8 Secret Places) 1.) Enter bookstore and go behind the counter. Jump up on top of the shelf behind the view screen. Push the wall in the corner while facing the shorter wall. Inside is a Holoduke. 2.) Behind the big door in the bookstore (opened by pushing the first & third buttons), go down the hallway until just before you get to the elevator. Turn right and continue until you reach the lighted area. There is a Pig Cop and healing in there. 3.) Go back into bookstore and turn right. The fourth bookshelf on that side wall will open if pushed. Inside are Pipe Bombs & armor. 4.) After destroying the building and getting the yellow access card, go into the bathroom by the pool room. Open wall behind the toilet in the little cove. Go all the way down into the sewer for the secret area. 5.) In the nightclub with the dancers, turn to the left inside the door. Jump up on the bench you will see on the far wall. This will open a door behind the dancers on the other side of the club. Use the shift key to run like hell and jump on the stage to get in the secret area before the door closes. Ammo in here. 6.) On the same side of the club as the above stage, you will see an air vent up on the wall above one of the tables. Shoot it out & jump from the table into the vent. There are healing & Pipe Bombs in the vent on the way behind the curtain. 7.) When you get behind the curtain, go all the way to end of the stage. There is a ledge to the right and above the switch that opens the curtain. On the ledge are Night Vision Goggles. 8.) Jump over to, or Jetpack up to the platform behind the curtain. Go around the corner and you will see a light colored area on the wall to your left. Push the wall here and inside you will find a Med. Kit. Level 3 "Death Row". (10 Secret Places) 1.) Go into the control room to the right of the electric chair. Push the LEFT switch first to lower the electric chair. Jump down behind the chair to find a Shotgun and ammo. 2.) In the chapel, push the gray colored square with the picture of the BOSS on it. Shoot out the two stained glass windows. Behind the left window you will find the DOOM Marine and a Chaingun. 3.) As you are leaving the chapel, stand facing the altar, with your back to the wall between the exits. Shoot the button above the altar and a elevator will lift you up to a loft, where you will find healing. Shoot the Monk that is hanging from the rafters in front of you for more healing. 4.) At the end of the hallway outside the chapel, is a cell. Inside the cell, push on the bed. In the hole behind the bed is RPG ammo. 5.) In the area defended by the lasers, there is a big door to the submarine. This is the door that can't be opened from this side. On either side of this door are towers that have sloped fronts to them. Jump up on the slopes, and then up to the cliffs on the sides of the towers. Then jump up on the sloped area on the side of the tower. Push the wall, and a tunnel to the other side of the tower will open. Inside is three healing atoms. 6.) Still up on the cliff. When you get to the left side of the door to the sub, go all the way to end of the cliff. Look at the out side wall of Cell Block 1, and you will see a crack. Blast it with an RPG and jump from the cliff into the hole. If you then use a Pipe Bomb to then blast the wall in the hole, you will be in Cell Block 1. There is a bottle of steroids in the hole. 7 & 8.) Inside the round, rotatable room with the ugly hologram. Push the switch inside this room to make it rotate. This exposes the doors to the switches that turn off the force fields guarding the cell blocks. It also exposes a big door and an air vent on the wall opposite it. Have a Pipe Bomb ready and open the big door. Use the Pipe Bomb to blast the lasers guarding the door after it's opened. You will see two open doors, one on either side of the door to the big map. Jump or Jetpack into these coves. The left one has Pipe Bombs and the right one has healing. 9.) On the submarine side of the big door to the sub, you will see two towers similar to the ones on the other side. As you face the door on the sub side, jump up on the sloped area on the right tower. Push the wall and inside you will find Night Vision Goggles. 10.) Inside the sub, push the middle of the back wall. Inside is the sub's engine and a Med. Kit. Level 4 "Toxic Dump". (14 Secret Places) 1.) In the underwater cave to your right as you exit the sub, go all the way to the dead end. (Past where you have to blast the cracked wall). When you surface, you will be in a cave with a cocooned woman and some barrels. Blast the barrels and the cracked wall behind them, and you will exit alongside the bunker. 2.) Jump on top of the sub where it's burning. The switch is on the right side of the fire as you facing the bunker. You must get VERY close to the fire before you will hear the sound of the switch being tripped. This opens an area inside the sub, at the surface, with a Med. Kit, healing & armor. 3.) Go up the ramp to where the Blue access card is. Look to your right as you are facing the water. You will see a cave there. Jump over to it, and push the left wall, all the way in the back of the cave. You will find RPG ammo in there. 4.) In the hallway behind the bunker, push the wall on the bunker side. There is a door to the bunker there. In the bunker is a Chaingun. 5.) After you are picked up by the claws and dropped on the conveyer belt, follow the belt to the toxic pit. Jump into the pit and push the left end wall. There is ammo in here. 6.) Get back on the belt and go to the control room. Hit the switch box on the back wall to the left of the left, tall toxic waste vat. This switch looks more like a junction box than a switch! Jump inside the left vat, and then jump up onto a ledge on it's left side. You will healing there. 7.) Once you get to under water control rooms, push the switch to raise the water level. Surface and go into the cave in front of you. Climb up to the top of the sloping rock ramp. You will see a cave to your right. Jump over to it, and go into the dark area you will find at the back right side. On the back right side of this dark area, turn on your Night Vision Goggles and you will see a Med. Kit and a Shotgun. Jump up on ledge to get them. This is the secret area. 8.) Jump back to the sloping rock you jumped from to get to the cave. Now jump over to the ledge that is straight across the water from you. Go into the control room and push the wall just to the left of red tower. There is Scuba Gear & ammo in here. While you are in the control room, don't forget to push the switch of the control panel that opens the big door under the water!! 9, 10 & 11) Just outside the control room, you will see a crack in the wall to your right. Keep blasting the cracks you find and you will wind up back at the bunker. There is healing in these three secret areas. 12.) After running through the gears, follow the stream. Watch the RIGHT side wall for the tell-tale crack. Blast it with the RPG and jump into the hole. You have to be quick, because once you are past it, you can't get back. Good idea to save game before going down stream!! Take the transporter to the secret area. 13.) After you ride the moving tower across the lagoon, you will see a vent fan across the toxic stream. Shoot it out, and either use the ledge to it's right to jump into it, or Jetpack into it. There are Boots & healing inside. 14.) When you leave the last platform on the toxic river, and enter the fast flowing area, count the light areas that you go by in the tunnel. The wall is cracked in the third light area. Blast it with an RPG, and jump into the hole. You will find the transporter to the Secret Level 6 in here. Level 5 "The Abyss". (6 Secret Places) 1.) After the San Andeas Fault earthquake, "Go With The Flow" and head downstream. When you reach the end of the river, go into the cave on the left side. Follow the path up until you reach the top where you find a cove that has a box of Pipe Bombs in it. Push the wall just to the left of the entrance to this cove. You will find a bottle of steroids in there. 2.) Just past the above cove, there is a pit that has a big fire in the middle, and two hand prints on the walls. Jump into the fire hich will transport you into the room you were able to see after you crossed the old, rickety bridge. The secret area is up on the ledge where the RPG ammo is. 3.) In this same room, there is a ledge with healing atoms on it. Jumping onto this ledge will cause one or more bad guys to teleport in. To transport back to the first fire, jump back into the fire! 4.) After climbing up along the lava falls, shoot or pipe bomb the crack in the wall there. This opens a long passage with a variety of ammo on the ground. The "Secret Place" is at the far end of the passage, just before you come out by the keyed gate where you arted. 5.) Across the lava river, at the top of the falls, you will see a hand print switch. Press this switch to open a passageway to your left. Jump into this passage, and follow the lava river until you find an opening on the left. Follow the opening to a cave with a dancing maiden and three healing atoms in it. Picking up the atom behind the fire is the "Secret Place". 6.) Just to the right of the entrance to the big space ship, where the wall makes it's first angle, push the wall. Follow the path up to the secret area with healing, that you could see from the window in the rock wall earlier. Level 6 "Launch Facility". (4 Secret Places) 1.) When you reach the second toxic pool, dive beneath the surface. Follow the tunnel to the end, then surface. You will find ammo and healing. For some reason, you can dive beneath the toxic waste and not be injured, but when you are on the surface, it hurts. I must acknowledge "Crazy J" for this one. I would not have found it in a hundred years if it hadn't have been for his help! Thanks!! 2.) Follow the ramp up from the second large room you come to. The one with the healing atom on top of the brick column in it. At the top of the ramp, right at the light switch, look up and you will see a vent fan. Shoot out the fan, and Jetpack into the vent. Inside you will find healing, I think. 3.) In the control room with all the Pig Cops, just before the rocket, face the console with the view screen. Push the wall where it angles, to the right of the console. Inside is armor. 4.) After the rocket is destroyed, go down to the lower level. Jump up onto the console in the control room, and push the panel. Inside is healing. Mike. ... In the room with the force field guarding the hallway, there is a switch to turn off the field. Push the wall to the right of this switch. Has atomic energy and probably aliens. 2). In the same room as above, BACK up to the view screen. A floor switch will trip opening a panel high on the wall in front of you. Has rpg ammo. 3). Shoot out the vent cover in the room with all the boxes and the blue access key. Jump into the vent. 4). In the big room with the "out of order" elevator, there is an open room high on the left side of the big wall. Jet pack up and turn facing the front BEFORE you land. When you land a floor switch will open a door on the far left side of the room on the floor BELOW the one you are on. You must RUN & JUMP into the shaft in the middle of the room which will land you in the water on the floor below. Then you must RUN to the door before it closes. Has chain gun ammo. 5). Jet pack up either the "out of order" elevator shaft, or the shaft you jumped down above. At the end of the hallway are alien(s), atomic health & devastator. 6). Take elevator by the card access lock to the auto-destruct, down to find alien(s), chain gun & shrink ray. E2L2 Incubator. Five Secret Areas. 1 & 2). In the second room, just to the right of the shotgun ammo on the control console, push wall & door will open with pipe bombs inside. Push walls inside for secret areas. 3). Push the second flat panel to the right of the "Armory", (past the little alcove). Has freeze ray & holoduke. 4). Push second flat panel to the right of rotating pedestals with atomic health. Has chaingun ammo. 5).Jump into the big "Earth Defense Forces" logo. E2L3 Warp Factor. Two Secret Areas. 1). In the room accessed by the yellow card, there is a room on the right side, to the left of the first aid. At the top left side of this room is a switch. Move as far away from this room as you can and still be able to shoot the switch. The switch opens a panel on the left side of the room in the middle of the big room you are in. You must RUN to get in before the panel closes. Keep taking elevators to the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. 2). On the bridge, there is an office in one corner. You will want to BACK into this office and close the door quickly, as drones & enforcers appear on the bridge in large numbers! Push the laptop computer on the desk to open the "Really Ready Room" Secret area is ON counter in front of movies. E2L4 Fusion Station. Seven Secret Areas. I have only found six areas so far. If anyone can help me out here, please let me know. 1). After crossing the bridge over the lava river and taking the elevator down, you will see a view screen on your right. Just past the view screen, jump up onto the ledge for the trip bomb. Push the middle of the wall. Has slimer(s), large med kit & atomic health. 2). In secret area 1 above, turn left and go to the end of the tunnel. Turn to your left and jump up. Has pipe bombs. 3).In the room with the large pool & big paddles, there is a floor switch at the view screen that opens a wall DIRECTLY across the water. Use jetpack to fly over to it; you have three seconds! 4). After crossing the bridge that you have to shoot, there is a room to your left full of slimer pods. Press the rounded area to the right of the window in this room. Has armor. 5). In the hallway after the room with all the slimer pods, jetpack up onto the first archway. Blast the crack in the wall on the right of where the girl is. Has rpg ammo. 6). On the other side of this archway is a vent cover. Shoot it & crawl in--but be careful! E2L5 Occupied Territory. Four Secret Areas. 1). Past the first slimer pods in the room that has the yellow & black striped barrier, face the wall at the yellow stripe on the right side. Crouch down. Has atomic health. 2). At the top of the ramp in the second bay-like room, is a vent cover. Shoot it & crawl in. Has a rpg & armor. 3). Jetpack up to the hanger that all the drones came out of. Has atomic health & rpg ammo. 4). In the room at the top of the ramp that is opened with the red access card, push far right screen on the console. Has atomic energy & trip bomb. 5). This is not a secret area, but access to a secret level! In the final room, there is a switch very high on the wall. It opens a door also high on the wall. Inside is the self destruct to Level 10--Spin Cycle. This level has no secret areas. E2L6 Tiberious Station. Eight Secret Areas. 1). In the first big room, there is a supply room on the left. Push the back wall inside. Has portable med kit. 2). On the right side of the hallway past the yellow & gray stripes, you will see a crack in the wall. Blast it & jump in. Has slimers & shotgun ammo. 3). In the hallway to the right of the balcony overlooking the surging toxic waste reservoir, is a crack in the wall. Blast it & crawl in. Has jetpack. 4 & 5). From the movable walkway over the toxic reservoir, jetpack over to the middle of both side walls. Press the light colored areas just above the water line. Have rpg ammo & atomic health. 6). Inside the air vent leading to the room with all the aliens guarding the self-destruct, there is another vent cover before this room. Shoot it out. There is a floor switch in the main vent that opens a panel high on the wall across the hall from the cover you just shot. You have Shift-jetpack over to this room VERY fast before it closes. Has a rpg. 7). Below the control room that has elevators on either side, is a hallway between the elevators. The wall across from the drinking fountain in this hallway is a hologram that you can walk through. Has pipe bombs. 8). On the wall just to the left of the locked door marked "Danger Radioactive Materials", there is an indented area. Push the wall here. Has an alcove with steroids & chaingun ammo. E2L7 Lunar Reactor. Seven Secret Areas. 1). After crossing the water between the movable walls, kick out the vent cover. Push the right side of shot up control panel on the left side of ledge. Has ammo. 2). Go back into the vent and go to the left corner diagonally across from the vent. Push the wall. Has atomic health. 3). Go back through the vent and jetpack across the chasm to your left and down. You will find a cave on the other side. Secret area is is inside under the guy hanging upside down from the ceiling. Also, push the wall at the end of the cave for a teleporter to the landing you could see across the chasm from where you started. 4). After teleporting, go through the tunnel and then the vent at the end. Jump on top of the vent when you get to the hole by the end. You will see a cave to your left. Jump over to it. Has rpg ammo, armor & atomic health. 5). After the yellow rotating gear,push the left control panel. Has freeze ammo & holoduke. 6 & 7). On either side of room with toxic waste reservoir and rotating cylinder with two big arms, there are ledges to jump up on that have ammo. E2L8 Dark Side. Seven Secret Areas. 1). After taking the elevator up from start point, push the map in the big central room. Has atomic health. 2). Blast wall across from subway entrance in Alpha Transport. Has devastator. 3). In the room with the tanks containing spacesuits, push wall just to the right of the conveyor belt. Follow belt to elevator and take it up to the hall full of slimers. 4). Push the map across from the Gamma Transport call switch. Has trip bombs & shrink ray. 5). After pushing the switch inside the Beta Transport car to start it moving, turn and move into the doorway. Keep trying to get out continuously, and you will exit into the secret area about halfway down the tube where the sound is. Has atomic health. 6). Take subway to Gamma area. At the far end the long room after lowering the platform, there is a vent cover. Blast it & follow the vent duct to the end. There is a toxic reservoir to the left that has a crack in the left wall. Blast it & jump in. Has pipe bombs. 7). When you come out of the obelisk, turn to your left 90 degrees. You should see a space suit hanging in front of you. Just above and to the right of this suit, there is a crack in the light colored area. Blast it and jump or jetpack up into the opening. You will find the self destruct that takes you to secret level E2L11, Lunatic Fringe, that has no secret areas. E2L9 Overlord. Four Secret Areas. 1). In the room with blue stream running through it, go to the sloping walkway on the right side of the room. Look HIGH on the left wall of the walkway for a crack. Blast it and go up the walkway for access. Has pipe bombs. 2). In the room with the big red pool with the rotating pillar in the middle, look toward the big map from inside the pool. On either side of the opening, there are columns. To the left and right of these columns, the walls are holograms that you can swim through. Has ammo & atomic health. 3). In this same room, push the left and the two right circles on the bottom of the big map. You will hear a "ka-ching" if you get the right ones. This will lower the column in the middle of the pool. Jet pack over to the top of this column and land. This will open a door on the far side of the column that is in front of the vent opening. You have to jetpack over VERY quickly to get in before the door closes. Has a rpg. 4). In the big room at end of the level where you battle the Overlord, there is a panel at the back of the room, opposite the door to the Overlord. I have not been able to figure out how to get this panel open yet. There is also a panel on the right side of the room that has another self-destruct button that takes you to secret level 10--Spin Cycle, but I have not figured out to get this open either. Just inside the sushi restaurant hallway is a statue of a Japanese lady. Just to the left of it is gray panel. Jump up into it. You can also enter or exit this secret area from a panel to the right of the door switch in the office. 2.) Inside the sushi restaurant hallway, press the belly button of the poster of the Exotica dancer. Jump up for the secret area and a shrinker. 3.) Blast the crack in the wall in the last private eating room in the sushi restaurant (by the menu with the bloody hand print). Has shrinker ammo & health. 4.) At the end of hallway in the sushi restaurant, push the menu with the bloody hand print on the chalkboard. Has armor. 5.) In the room with the eating counter & blue stream with the dirty dishes going by, look at the bottom of the far right wall for two wood doors. Use night vision goggles inside doors & do what you read. Secret areas has chaingun ammo & pipe bombs. 6.) On the wall just in front of the above wood doors, push the bloody hand print. A panel on the wall to the right will open. Has freeze thrower. 7.) In the kitchen of the sushi restaurant, push the wine rack. Has RPG. E3L2 Bank Roll. 5 Secret Areas. 1.) Push the ATM in the corner across from the two big pillars. Has chaingun. 2.) After taking the elevator up from the snack room, push the switch on the desk in the pig cop's office. Jump into the cove that's opened. Has devastator. 3.) Inside the lobby of the area accessed with the blue card, shoot the button HIGH in the dark area on the wall opposite the telephones. This opens a cove under the phones. Has holoduke. 4.) Further inside the blue card area, push the wall behind the desk. The picture will open. Has jetpack & health. 5.) After getting the red access card from above the gears, go to the gear room farthest to the right from where you entered the gears. Blast the crack in the wall. Has atomic health. E3L3 Flood Zone. 5 Secret Areas. (I am missing one. Please help!) 1.) On the rooftop, just to the left of the yellow card access door, There is a sloping ledge with atomic health on it. At the very top of this ledge, push the rounded area. Has jetpack. 2.) To the right of the "Alley Cat Lounge" sign is a ledge about halfway up the building. Push the window at the top of this ledge. Inside is chaingun ammo. 3.) After blasting "The Crack Below" (message is read with night vision goggles in cave that opens when you jump on the vent fans by the yellow card door) that is hidden by the vines under water, go inside until you can surface. Jump up on green ledge for secret area. Has health, pistol & shrinker ammo and a devastator. 4.) Inside the red card area, push the "Hard Hat Area" sign on the box to the left. Opens side of box toward the door. Dark area with the alien is the secret area. Has health. 5.) I'll fill this in as soon as I can!! E3L4 L.A. Rumble. 3 Secret Areas. 1.) Blast the crack in the wall where the very first pig cop is. Gives access to various ammo & way to get to higher terrain. 2.) Inside the blue access card area, stand facing the sink & then turn left 90 degrees. Crouch down, & then push. Counter to the left of the sink will lower. Has atomic health. 3.) In the room that has the red access card, press the picture on the right. Has devastator ammo. E3L5 Movie Set. 4 Secret Areas. 1.) At big "Lunar Apocalypse" billboard, go through "3D Realms Studios" triangle. Has atomic health, devastator ammo & freezer. 2.) Push the right cash register in the ticket booth & RUN to the candy machine to the left. Has atomic health. 3.) In stage 17A, jump up on stacked boxes. Floor switch will trip on the top box, opening two boxes in the third level of boxes. Door only stays open for a couple seconds, so if you don't manage to jump in while it's open, you can jetpack up to it later. Has a drone & shrinker. 4.) Inside the yellow card area, jump into the middle of the big blue earth. The wall is a hologram that you can jump through. Has shrinker, jetpack &, up in the vent, atomic health. 5.) By the satellite dish on the moon set, face the "USA" sign and push. This opens a wall behind & to your right. Has access to secret level 10. E3L10 Tier Drops. 4 Secret Areas. (My favorite level). 1-4.) At each corner of the outside hallway, at the center of the raised platform, push the wall. Each corner has different ammo and-or health. E3L6 Rabid Transit. 6 Secret Areas. 1.) Jump un top of the left newspaper vending machine between the cola machines & telephone. Has holoduke. 2.) Push the "Lunar Apocalypse" sign. Has chaingun. 3.) In the red access area, jump into the water & kill the octobrains. This will lower the big bookcase on the left. Has health, devastator ammo & RPG. 4.) In the subway tunnel, to the right of the blue lighted recessed area, is a crack in the wall. Blast it. Has atomic health & devastator ammo. 5.) At the 6th & Spring St. station, push the U.S. Mail box. This opens a panel above the box. Has RPG ammo. 6.) Just to the right of the mail box, behind where the enforcer appears, push the wall. Has freezer & RPG ammo, and devastator. E3L7 Fahrenheit. 4 Secret Areas. 1.) In the room with the red floor & four-screen video, blast the bottles in the liquor cabinet. The cabinet is a hologram that you can jump through. 2.) In the same room, push the picture by the night vision goggles. 3.) In KTIT studio, the red wall is a hologram that you can walk through. Has freezer ammo & atomic health. 4.) In the room with three view screens, push the door to the right of the right view screen. Has aliens & red access card. E3L8 Hotel Hell. 3 Secret Areas. 1.) Behind the waterfall in the lobby, push the hand print. Has atomic health. 2.) Behind the bar in the room with the shark tanks, push the TALL wine rack. Has holoduke. 3.) To the left of the TALL wine rack, push the wood panel between the liquor cabinets. Has med kits, scuba & pipe bombs. 4.) Behind the waterfall in the lobby, go behind the palm tree on the right side. Access to secret level 11. E3L11 Freeway. 5 Secret Areas. 1.) After leaving the water, turn to left & go to the end of the road. Blast the crack on the left side of the road & jump up on the wall. Turn left & go to the last window on the ledge. Push the window & jump in. Has freeze thrower & water for health. 2.) Blow the crack in the wall where the blue access card is found. Has freezer ammo & chaingun. 3.) In the same room as above, push the right side of the long bookcase. Has devastator ammo. 4.) To the left of the entrance to the blue access elevator is a window. Push the window & jump in. Has devastator ammo & shrinker. 5.) In the room accessed with the blue card, where all the conveyor belts are, the yellow & black stripes on the wall are a hologram. There is a special version for sale there. Here is some text from Dennis Scarff, our Vice President of World Operations I received when I asked him for a statement regarding Australia and Duke 3D. Upon the completion of Duke Nukem 3D it was promptly sent to Manaccom, our master dealer in Australia. Manaccom submitted the game to the Government Censors for a rating and waited. Around the same time someone in Tazmania decided to shoot up the place and if I remember correctly around thirty people lost their lives. This sparked a reaction from the public as well as the Government and the decision was made to ban all violent games. The message to our staff was clear, unless we produced a non violent version of the game, it would simply not be allowed into the country. Manacomms request for a non violent version of the game was evaluated, and it was determined that the effort of re-designing portions of the program then testing the completed product would take a long time. To this, a version was produced for Australian distribution that has the Parental Lock Permanently on. It is not legal for us to sell or offer the "regular" version in Australia.
