I know it is really ashame that some places don't provide but; as far as your question goes I am in the process of getting an information list for the state of Nebraska on what we here provide so that people that are interested can have the information as a personal knowledge refrence. I know that it won't do them much good if they don't live here however; it might give them some idea's to get things going in other places that are not doing what is needed for the deaf or the blind. I posted a message to harles who is in this confrence about posting the information once I get it opefully it will be of some help:) [EM] Well, I am not familiar all the state, I only know that Washinton State Well you got things pretty close to where we are ! I think I've got one but wanted some feedback. Let me know what you think. We would travel to Maine in late summer. It would be a very outdoorsy experience including hiking, horseback riding, white water rafting, the beach, a hot air balloon ride, etc. The group size would be limitted to insure everyone's needs are met. The trip would be for visually impaired persons and their companions. The tour would include guides for those traveling alone. If we could get this trip for around $1500 per person for a week, do you think it would sell? Do you have any suggestions? We are also thinking of organizing trips to Hawaii, Disney, and a cruise to the Caribbean. How do they sound? Please let me know what you think. If you have any suggestions or ideas for other trips, please let me know. You can respond here or e-mail me, which ever is easier. My e-mail address is: access@nauticom.net I appreciate everyone's input. I hope things are going well for you and that you are now settled in at your sister's house. I think the day care center idea is a good one. I think it was wise of your rehab counselor to suggest it, and I assume since she did that she knows the staff will take the time to teach other people attending to communicate with you via the methods that you use with your family members who don't know how to finger spell. So it seems to me to be a good opportunity to make new friends and have some fun. You can probably learn how to do some new and different kinds of crafts projects there whenever your hands aren't hurting too much that might be suitable at-home activities also. It certainly wouldn't hurt to give it a try. If you don't like it, you can stop. Anne Page * SLMR 2.1a * I am NOT loafing. Your self-stick return address labels with your new location are done and going in the mail to you on Monday. I have also included this poem for you to share with your sister and brother-in-law that I have used many times in my canine newspaper when writing about a deceased dog fancier. DEPARTED (Author Unknown) A grave no matter where the spot Is nothing but an empty plot. The essence of our loved one is gone, But in our hearts that person lingers on. We've got many golden memories to share In which we always find them there; Shared moments of a special kind Each one lives permanently within our minds.
