Good morning Laura, thanks for that great response; at least now I know it is being done successfully. A couple of days ago, I went to one of those presentations on a homebased business; namely a company called Qcomm a longdistance calling card company; guess what, the typical spend three thousand dollars and you to can be a workshop attendee. Otherwise, you know what!!! fill in the rest... Anyway I will continue to the path of success anyway. I sometimes am a bit disgusted but still continue the battle of survival, have a good day. --- QuickBBS 2.76a Ovr * Origin: The DCCG BBS * Berkeley, CA * 510-841-5621 * (1:161/40) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 238 VISUAL DISABILIT Ref: DF400005Date: 11/03/96 From: HENRY KASTEN Time: 07:21am \/To: ALLEN BEERS (Read 2 times) Subj: Speech-QuattroPro-Windows Howdy Allen, HK> I can't use QuattroPro in Windows. I've talked with most of the speech developers and nothing is on the horizon for QuattroPro for Windows. I will say, however that Mike at G W Micro has been the most straight forward with me as to why it won't work. the other representatives didn't seem as knowledgeable nor did they seem to understand why I needed it. The common response was that there product worked wonderfully with other software. I as wonderfully under impressed. AB> I use MSWORKS for windows and it works with the AB> spreadsheet program. Official rules for participation in BlinkTalk, the echo that deals with topics of particular interest to visually disabled persons: 1. Please allow the moderator to perform his job as he sees best, and ignore those who attempt to do his job for him! 2. Keep the forwarding of messages to and from BlinkTalk to a minimum because there is a greater than normal possibility of duplication due to the large number of participating sysops! 3. Messages should in some way relate to the stated topic of the echo, and although this topic is quite loosely defined, use of the echo for personal mail will not be tolerated! In general, this means messages that can be of interest to no person other than the individual to whom they are posted, such as the classic, "I called you saturday and you weren't home!", which belongs in netmail. Likewise, the forwarding of or responding to private netmail in the echo is absolutely forbidden! 4. Personal attacks will not be tolerated, no matter how much the jerk deserves it! 5. Due to the nature of the echo, it is permissable to introduce new products here, and even encouraged! Hard selling should be avoided, however, as should direct attacks on competing products! 6. Never use a bathroom in an unfamiliar location without first locating the toilet paper! 7. Use of the echo for illegal activities is forbidden! This includes such things as dispersal of pirated software, credit card numbers, copies of copyrighted material such as RFB and music recordings, etc. 8. It is paramount that the participants in BlinkTalk realize that one man's croutons is another man's dried bread! That is, just as your approach to blinkdom got you to where you are, a different approach may have been just as affective for someone else, so do consider this when replying to messages! 9. All messages should contain an origin line including the participating board's FidoNet address. BlinkTalk is, and has always been a FidoNet echo, and gating to other networks and/or mediums is permissable only with approval of the moderator. This echo is currently being handled on the FidoNet backbone, but the method of distribution is the sole decision of the moderator. 10. Above all else, think of BlinkTalk not as a nationwide forum for visual disabilities topics, but as a place where you can meet with fellow blinks and interested winks, and have a good time! We've got something good going here, and it is my intention that we keep it that way! No, Hank, you are not dumb. The files maintenance I do entails correcting the files in our system. For instance, a manufacturer might cancel a part number, and replace it with a new one. So, on a provisioner's instructions, I will delete the old part number off the stock number record and add the new one to it. Stuff like that. Have a wonderful day.
