Vista is about $2700. It's so expensive because it has its own video card, and has 10 different fonts. Another really nice feature is that you can customize the size of the print. If you want, you can have the print displayed as, height of 8 power, and width of 6 power, for example. I don't think Zoom Text can do that. Also, Vista's magnification goes from 2 to 16. Plus, you can change settings with Vista using the mouse, even in DOS. You don't have to go into a menu to start/stop scrolling, change the view, etc. As far as I'm concerned, it's worth every penny. Its hard to believe that your friend had trouble running his LP program, as well as DOS, on his Pentium. They're pretty powerful. My sig file has my net address as 1:270/720 because until recently, Stimpy's, where I post in Fido from, didn't have a Blue Wave compatible mail door. And I wanted to be able to enter netmail offline, so that's why I use Howdy's for that. But now, Stimpy has a BW door, so I can actually do netmail from both. CH>>Me wife Erin has one pooch, and we have two cats. I have two dogs (middle-aged Beagles remaining from the old days when I was an active show dog breeder-exhibitor) here at home, one dog (a Longcoat Chihuahua) living with my show handler friend who is exhibiting him on the show circuit since I can't afford time-wise or money-wise to travel to the shows, and one cat, a Siamese we adopted several years ago from a humane society shelter. I had two cats until this past June when the old "All-American mix" we got from the same shelter died. CH>>I'm high partial :-) So you are able to read large print? Do you need mobility assistance by a cane or can you move about freely without that? Is Erin's pooch a guide dog as well as a pet and companion? I'm not trying to be nosy about your private life, just curious, so ignore any questions you consider intrusive. There id comes before each thing they WS> say, but where there are several conversations going on at the same WS> time, it is rather confusing. That is one of the reasons I don't WS> like chatting in any chat areas. If I do, I really like to be on a WS> channel with one or two people at the most. I figured that. A partially sighted user can manage that, but i agree with you tho, that several people on one channel would be confusing as heck. What kind of software do you use for IRC. In my case, i can see the screen and read the print but takes a long time to do so. In IRC tho, i can't do that to good and try to follow several conversations. I also use ZOOMTEXT plus in windows, so you could immagine how much of a nusense it can be.
