I still need all of gold NC> citizen, and conservation, along with one 25km hike. Don't give up. Until the end of September; well, you have about six months to do it. The 25km hike should be done in the summer. The other stuff you should be able to do in your spare time, at home (except for some of the Conservation requirements). Do that as soon as possible. Actually, I did my 25km hike with a Venturer from the company I was joining, and another Scout. If you can't find anyone else to go with you, that's an available option. I earned my Chief Scout's Award in December of '93. (The Troop Court-of-Honour, to decide if I was active for a year or not, was four days before the 'deadline', 3 months after you join a Venturer company.) I guess I can say it's a pretty badge. :) Are you planning to join Venturers? It can be a lot of fun. pat --- FMail 0.94 * Origin: /\ Scouting Online BBS /\ Pierrefonds Pq Canada (1:167/155) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 237 SCOUTING #2 Ref: C3M00008 Date: 03/17/95 From: PATRICK LAM Time: 12:13am \/To: MIKE BINGLEY (Read 5 times) Subj: Uniform MB> I didn't mean that it would replace it-I like the beret, if they MB> got rid of that I'd be most upset (before the new uniform came it, I MB> was trying to track down one of the old Venturer Berets, but now MB> they're a common item). They had Venturer Berets? I've seen the old Venturer uniform from time to time (and I think the tie idea is silly.. but that could be just me; not a tie person.) I never saw a beret to go with it though. What colour was it? One of the 'problems' people had with the old uniform was that there were too many options available.. something to keep in mind. pat --- FMail 0.94 * Origin: /\ Scouting Online BBS /\ Pierrefonds Pq Canada (1:167/155) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 237 SCOUTING #2 Ref: C3M00009 Date: 03/16/95 From: MICHELE BRUHN Time: 10:28pm \/To: RON BOYD (Read 5 times) Subj: Re: campfire.zip RB*Scouts, and am thoroughly enjoying myself...having loads of fun. All of the scouts and leaders are dressed in period costume The boys are given a tour of the fort and they also have several battles that they participate in. They usually have a parade to downtown Niagara- on- the- Lake and march in a parade formation to the center of town and then have about an hour or two to shop in the stores. The campaign usually takes place on the third weekend of September. It is run by GTR Scouts Canada c/o Bruce Sellors They usually have between 500 - 600 boys participating. --- Maximus 2.02 * Origin: K-W AMATEUR RADIO BBS*VE3MTS*NEC-221*HST-14.4* (1:221/177) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 237 SCOUTING #2 Ref: C3P00004 Date: 03/15/95 From: JOHN MEED Time: 10:58pm \/To: BRIAN WENZEL (Read 4 times) Subj: Scoutworks On (15 Mar 95) Brian Wenzel wrote to All...
