It's a painful life we lead, but often a very fulfilling one if we can work out the seemingly overwhelming hardships. :) Let's face it, misery is often a GREAT source of inspiration, as is the elation once the problem has passed. And as far as your figures, With MIDI, any computer able keep up with the MIDI events will perform equally. It's the quality of software that may differ. I want to get my hands on Bars n' Pipes Pro now that it's shareware, and the manuals can be purchased for $20. :) PT> those are not accurate... Here is the rundown of sound rates I can PT> get: PT> Mixing buffer can be up to 32k PT> Mixing rate can be up to 58.0kHz It *IS* possible to squeeze more out of the chip, but 8-bit 22KHz is what it's originally designed for, and what it advertised in original spec sheets. PT> ... Could be inaccurate, but that is what "Hippoplayer" tells me it PT> can be mixed at with the current card and chipsets... Exactly what I was talking about... the better players and programs can really squeeze everything out of the Amiga to get better results. If only PC programmers worked as hard. [deep sigh] ... SH> I wonder if there might be someone out there who feels so ignored as I SH> do..... Yeh, but maybe it's because we're spending time lurking in the background just reading the posts. There are quite a few who read the letters but don't write back. Takes time to keep up a conversation. So what do you play? Do you work in the Va Beach Clubs. I was in Va Beach a few years back for about 4 years and it was a very very tight town. A great midi store in Audio Sight & Sound. Bought a Korg PSS50 Super Section from them for almost cost. So what is your strong points? The music or the lyrics. I personally have a real time with the lyrics. Keep trying though. I'm mostly into a jazz, swing, country, rock & Roll ballad type of mode. Trying to get into the jingle side of things also but having great difficulty getting any real info on how to procede. BTW, I attended Norfolk State and took some courses in there Music/Business program. Got in under a minority program (white student at all black college). Did the same thing a few years earlier at U of Md Eastern Shore. Both times thought I'd be able to get into some heavy jazz programs only to find I was more into the jazz and pop fields then there programs. Did get some dynamite experience playing with the Norfolk State Orchestra though. Never had done anything like that before. Anyway, no need to be lonely. There are plenty of us out here that share the same interests. So write and tell a little more about yourselve. earl.kurburski@sothis.com ... In addition are some helpful tips on how to save time and money when copyrighting your material; for instance, the government charges you a fee for every copyright you request -- I'll tell you how you can copyright several tunes for the price of one. Included with the kit is unlimited "tech support" via e-mail for any questions you might have during the process. I'm also providing a comprehensive list of additional resources that deal with the ins and outs of the Music Industry. The package is available as e-mail or as a shipped hard copy. (To use the e-mail version you need Adobe's Acrobat to view and print the copyright forms.) Also, the snail mail version is prettier to look at, seeing as with e-mail I'm kind of limited to just text. It all depends on how quickly you need it, and if you have a printer that can print out the forms once you receive them. If you're interested, send a cheque or money order for $14.95 made out to J. J. GREENE at: COPYRIGHT KIT 5225 BLAKESLEE AVE. # 118 NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA 91601 Please notify me by email if you plan on ordering; include which type of kit you want (e-mail or hard copy). This way I can get everything processed ahead of time, so when I receive your order in the mail I can send it out right away. If you want it shipped, I can send it second day for an additional $9; other than that, I pay all shipping and handling costs. This is a new business venture for me, and I hope that we can both benefit from it. If you have any questions whatsoever let me know, and as with any quality product or service, if you're not completely satisfied I'll return your money. And that's it! Hope to hear from you soon.
