The Mets have the -> best NL record since (i believe) April 27th. In the third game the Braves killed the Mets in scoring. And all the other games were close. So the Braves as the great team they are, made sure that they could have swept the Mets but they were on a road trip. And i think when the pounded the mets in game 3 of the series. That it sended a great message to Mets fans that they still the NL 96 champs. And i think the Mets are due for a big slump and loosing tons of games. -> I think it's the Braves who better get off of their pedestal and start -> worrying about all the pressure from the Marlins, the Mets, and the Expos... Perhaps they not like the Orioles which i might add they are also having troubles keeping their lead over the Yankees. Since they lost a couple of games to the Blue Jays recently. And as for the Braves they are the 96 NL champs. They will know what to do when things get very close and you can count me on that. And i dunno why you think i am a Brave fan. I am not, i am a St. Louis Cardinal fan. I am just also a baseball fan and watch tons of different games. And just sometimes can't stand stuff that is said by new york fans now and then. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v2.0 * Origin: The "CyberVault" BBS System! - Bergen County, NJ! What i meant was that i knew that it would be hard to beleive that the Mets was going to sweep the Braves in this series. I can defintly be confident in saying that if the Mets were playing in the Braves home stadium they would have been swept by the Braves very quick. That is why the Braves are such a great team, they know when they are in a slup how to keep games close even if they loose them. And then when they get hot again they just bash that team into the ground and move on. Sending a message that they couldn't be beaten in the series. So i know the Braves are that team that are like those Chicago Bulls. Team of the 90s if they can win another title. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v2.0 * Origin: The "CyberVault" BBS System! - Bergen County, NJ! Try paying attention a bit before you -> go spewing your mouth off next time... Oh woopie, the Mets were able to score some runs. Let me teach you something here. The Braves sended the message way before the Mets happened to score their 7 runs. The end result is that they lost the game and the Braves sended the message that they are the greater team. And not only that, any team that wins a game with scores like 14 to 7 or 14 to 3 is still a team that has beaten the other team in a big way. Since we all knew that the Mets weren't going to win that game once the Braves pulled way out front. And it also was a waste to score those runs anyways when they knew they were going to loose. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v2.0 * Origin: The "CyberVault" BBS System! - Bergen County, NJ! Nothing in these rules will supercede or replace any valid FidoNet rule or policy. ----------- What's "On Topic"? ------------ ML-BASEBALL is an area for the friendly discussions of the great sport of BASEBALL! Everyone is welcome to share facts, figures, opinions, questions and observations about baseball. If it concerns concerns baseball, owners, players, franchises, stadiums, hot-dogs, tickets, or the price of ballpark beer, you're in the right place! :) ----------- What's *OFF TOPIC**? ------------ **FANTASY LEAGUES**, SPORTS TRADING CARDS, Office Pools, Simulation Games, Oddsmaking, Gambling of any kind, Ads for anything other than baseball related files or utilities (to include BBSs); Selling orExchanging paraphanalia, and anything else that becomes annoying... ---------- How am I supposed to behave here? ---------- 1) First and foremost, let your conscience be your guide. There are three basic rules to abide by as long as you stay within the constraints of the topic at hand: (1) Thou shalt not be annoying. (2) Thou shalt not be easily annoyed. (3) Thou shalt not let filth spilleth out of thy mouth. 2) If your mother wouldn't let you say it, we won't either. Occasional four-letter slips are fairly human, but when "slips" become your norm, the situation will be dealt with. General filth, is not accepable. *3) Remember that your opinions are just that... *YOUR OPINIONS* We all have opinions. Yours isn't any more important than anyone elses. If you disagree with another person here, argue your point, dispute theirs but *_DON'T_* turn it into a personnal war. You'll lose, even if you win. 4) "Emoticons": When speaking (or typing) sarcastically or "tongue in cheek" (:-^) it may be hard for others to discern if you don't slap one of the many versions of smilies ":-)" or "grinz" ";-}" or "" on the end. We can't read your mind, nor would we want to on most occasions. :-) Note: If you see an "Emoticon" on someone else's post, then take it as sarcastic, and don't get all torqued about it. If you do, you'll considered "annoying", and probably catch a foul ball in the noggin' for it. 5) Handles and Aliases (Aliaii ?) are generally frowned upon. It doesn't really matter what your name is, but we like to know that we are conversating with someone intelligent... (???) Aliases are acceptable *_ONLY_* if you sign your real name at the end of the message. 6) Keep the language suitable for general conversation. If your mother wouldn't let you say it, then it shouldn't be said here. We often have youngsters and nice ladies participating in our discussions. There is no open urinal hanging on the wall, nor are there jock straps hanging from every ceiling fixture... In other words, this ain't no locker room. :-) 7) "Extra-curricular Activities" IE: "Boarder Wars" are off-topic. We will not tolerate malicious name calling, Anti-Canadian, Anti-American, Anti-Any-Nationality bantering, nor racial or ethnic slurs. This is grounds for *immediate* vacation from the echo. 8) Minor League discussions are permitted in cases where they directly relate to a particular Major League team or organization. Occasional "Pawtucket beat Apple Valley" reports are fine, but lets not get into the "in-depth" minor league discussions. 9) Multiple line signatures are unnecessary. Please refrain from using the extensive signature lines. Fancy characters (high-ascii) is acceptable, but put it all on one line. ----------- What happens if I don't play well with others? ----------- 1) Any one of the following on the first offense: a) Four (4) Echo-canings, and a $50 EchoBuck contribution to the Roberto Alomar Institute for the Defensively Impared. b) A personal reading of 16 pages worth of Grinnell's statistical analysis on the adverse effect of domed stadiums on rotator cuff injuries. c) A gentle reminder to follow the echo rules. 2) In all seriousness... things that are deemed to be "out of hand" will warrant a friendly reminder in the echo, pointing the offender(s) in the "right" direction. Second, or more serious infractions will result in "personal" netmail to you and your SysOp. This could range anywhere from a harmless personal nasty-gram to a permanent leave-of-absense from the echo. 3) The ever popular, "Leave the moderating to the Moderators." Very rarely (I hope) will you have to see anything from the Moderator in an "official" capacity, but if something comes through, which is unquestionably out of order, let us handle it and you folks just continue with the baseball stuff.
