Has anyone ever compiled a list of all the radio stations carrying MLB games? To get things started, the Phillies games can be heard on AM 1210. The call letters have recently changed, but up until about a month ago, they were WGMP. 1210 seems to have a clear channel here on the east coast. I was able to pick the games while camping in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and also while on vacation in Baxter State Park in Maine. Phillies games are also carried on AM1150, WDEL in Wilmington, Delaware. For the post season, I would like to be an Orioles fan. (The Phillies aren't going to make the post season this year, I don't think). Does anyone know what station carries the Orioles games? --- JABBER v1.2 #200 ... I'd much rather >build a team around Lance Johnson type players; it's like the old adage >says: Speed never goes into a slump! Speed is often unbelievably underrated even when a speedy team is in the first place. I absolutely agree with you. Braves didn't establish their dominance with their power. They do have some good power, but pitching and speed were the key to their success. I did have some doubts about Cecil's future when he came to the Yankees. Sure, the big daddy's got some decent power numbers, but he really changes the whole chemistry of the Yankees team. First, he just cannot get a base hit. Hit after hit, hit & run, bunt, steal and another hit. This was the kind of baseball Yanks were playing in the first half of the season. With big Cecil in the heart of the lineup, everything stops. You cannot do tricky stuff with your runners with Cecil in the box. Therefore pitchers put their concentration on Cecil, and as you know, it's not that tough to get out a .250 hitter with no speed. Since there's no baserunning, they make more double plays on you. Same thing for Darryl, but I think he's better than Cecil in terms of chemistry. I've heard that Yanks are scoring more runs after the big trade. These people must really think Cecil's doing the Yankees good. Absolute nonsense. Numbers can be incredibly deceiving. Do we see those explosive 5-run innings lately? I don't. The reason Yanks are scoring more runs is because they score either too much or too little. Don't trust the numbers. Use Cecil as a pinch hitter in the middle of a game and I think the Yanks will be more successful. --- * QMPro 1.53 * Itsdifficulttobeverycreativewithonlyfiftysevencharacters! --- WILDMAIL!/WC v4.12 * Origin: Fresh Start BBS * Edison NJ * (908) 248-1678 * (1:107/310.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 234 BASEBALL Ref: DDR00003 Date: 09/14/96 From: CALEB KIM Time: 12:51am \/To: ALL (Read 2 times) Subj: Braves Is it true Turner has sold the Braves to Time Warner?
