You see a manager bring a guy into the game and right away he walks two batters. Is he PURPOSELY putting runs on base to get the save opportunity??? I would hope not. I would think the reliver should have better K-to-BB ratios than starting pitchers. --- * SPITFIRE v3.5 The Longhorn BBS, Houston, Tx 713-937-8636 *1:106/8636* --- SFScan v2.61 * Origin: The Longhorn BBS, Houston,Tx (1:106/8636.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 234 BASEBALL Ref: DCS00003 Date: 08/22/96 From: MARTY BLAISE Time: 12:16pm \/To: CHRIS FITZPATRICK (Read 2 times) Subj: Football linemen It was interesting that you mentioned football. I always hated to play football when I was little because all I ever got to do basically was block or be on the defensive line. The only players that ever get any glory are the backs and receivers. One time in college, I was going to play in a "pickup" game and they wanted me to be on the defensive line, so I just walked off an drove back home. I was tired of being called a dummy who couldn't do anything but rush or block. So, I have hardly ever touched a football since that time. Linemen never get the credit they deserve. They never score any points, never catch any passes, never run back punts. The only time they get mentioned is for holding penalties. It's because of that inequality of positions that I really don't pay much attention to football anymore. I would rather participate in a sport where all team players are equal. --- * SPITFIRE v3.5 The Longhorn BBS, Houston, Tx 713-937-8636 *1:106/8636* --- SFScan v2.61 * Origin: The Longhorn BBS, Houston,Tx (1:106/8636.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 234 BASEBALL Ref: DCS00004 Date: 08/22/96 From: MARTY BLAISE Time: 12:18pm \/To: CHRIS OGNIBEN (Read 2 times) Subj: And the Houston fans And of course, we in Houston have the luv ya blue fans who only show up when the team wins.
