Most people never heard of Dawson or Gary Carter before they went to Chicago and the Mets, yet they were on the All-Stars many times while playing for Montreal. If you remember the Doyle brothers that played a few years ago one of those boys could throw both ways but he wasn't a pitcher. I think most everyone will remember Denny Doyle that played for Boston and another brother Brain Doyle that played with the Yankee's. The last of the brothers that played for the Angles but for only for a short time was Blake Doyle and he could throw both ways . In High School he would pitch and use both arms but never in the pro's. All of these brothers are from Cave City Kentucky a town about 9 miles from me. It's hard to get 162 great games EG> from a player so you have to expect a bad game or two or eight..:-) I sure am glad to hear someone else say that. I have heard so many people that get angry at a player if they have a little slump. I have an uncle that I just don't want to talk baseball with at all. If a guy has a slump he's ready to either sit them on the bench or just trade them away!!! I've even seen him get mad if a player strikes out or if a pitcher gives up a walk. Folks like that are no fun at all to even try an talk baseball with.
