I will post this on NFB -Talk as well so sorry for the cross post. Dog Biscuits 3 and one half Cups all purpose flour 2 Cups whole wheat flour 1 Cup rye flour 1 Cup cornmeal 2 Cups cracked wheat (bulgur) 1 half Cup dry milk powder 1 teaspoon salt 2 Cups chicken stock 1 package dry yeast 1 egg 1 Tablespoon milk Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine in a big bowl all the flours, cornmeal, milk powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast in one fourth Cup lukewarm water, let it sit for a few minutes until it bubbles. Add the chicken stock to the yeast mixture and mix well. Add the liquid to the dry ingredients and mix well. knead about 3 minutes. The dough should be stiff. Flour a board with cornmeal and roll out the cough to a thickness of about one fourth inch thick. Cut out biscuits in appropriate shapes and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. You will probably need 2 cookie sheets as this makes a lot. Mix the egg with water and use to brush the tops of biscuits, then bake the biscuits for 45 minutes and turn off the oven and leave in overnight. This will make the dog biscuits bone hard. MAGOO CONCERNS I would like some fellow Federationist feedback on some concerns I am having with respect to the Mr. Magoo situation. It has been my observation, and is historically so (as I have been remined by numerous friends and family members) that publicity and controversy of thisnature (threatened boycotts, etc) lead to a greater interest than might have otherwise exiwsted in the offending movie, song, commercial, book, etc. I firmly believe we should oppose this movie, but I am uncertain as to the method we should employ to do so. What do others think? My current musings center around the idea of picketing with posters that make analogous statements/proposals for mock movies that would potentially offend other groups. There are obvious problems with this method, the main one being that we shouldn't have to potentially offend in order to demonstrate to others why this movie is insu.ting to the blind. We get our message out to the press and we atleast increase the awareness of Mr. Magoo's poor resemblence to the blind. If Disney still puts the movie out, at least the public may have an awareness why we disagree with them. I don't believe this is the only thing we should do, but I'm not sure what else we should do at this point.
