KJ>KJ> I need to bounce this off of you because you are a woman KJ>KJ>and a man can't give me a woman's answer, okay? KJ>Hi Kurt... KJ> I am here for you, bounce away. :)). Thanks. :) That's good to know. KJ>KJ> I realize that this woman is confused and scared because KJ>KJ>of her ex, and what he might do. This is a really screwed up KJ>KJ>triangle we got ourselves into here. She told me that it's not KJ>KJ> So, I told her that as long as she goes undecided, then I KJ>KJ>am backing out and that I would try to be there when she is ready. KJ>KJ>But, for Valentine's Day, I wanted to smooth things out between us KJ>KJ>and let her know that I care, in way that was romantic, KJ>KJ>spontaneous, light-hearted, non-threatening, and that didn't ask KJ>KJ>for anything in return. So, I went to the store and bought KJ>KJ>not aware that I was there, so I caught her completely off guard. KJ>KJ>I walked up and said, "Excuse me, are you Debbie?" She turned as KJ>KJ>she said, "Yes", and saw me. I immediately said, "Valentine's KJ>KJ>Express, Happy Valentine's Day!" Gave her the card & gift, blew KJ>KJ>her a kiss and was immediately on my way out the door. The whole KJ>KJ>event took less than 30 seconds. The look on her face was KJ>KJ>one of surprise, then one of sorrow, as if she was thinking, 'Oh KJ>KJ>boy, I have been treating this guy like dirt and he still cares KJ>KJ>enough to send me a Valentine. KJ>Has she said anything to you? Thank you, go away, etc.? She did not say thank you. On Friday the 16th, I called her to say that I thought it would be a good idea that we talk things over so we could get everything out on the table and know where we stand with each other, that this is destroying the way I feel about her. She said that she didn't have time because she had a test to take at school and that she was going away for the weekend. I didn't ask where or who she was going with. She said she would call on Sunday when she got home. I didn't call her at all to leave any messages or anything over the weekend. Sunday came, but not the call. I left it alone. Monday she called me and said she would call me later that evening to iron things out so that I could move on. I was silent for a while. I told her that I have been running this thing through the steps and taking and inventory on it. She also said,"...but I am not going to be a punching bag for anyone." I asked her what she meant and she told me that she didn't know what to expect. She said the bottom line is that she doesn't feel the same way I do, but that she would call me later that evening. Of course, the call did not come. I left it alone. Around 9:30 I ended up on the couch, laying there. Suddenly I was quite calm and began to laugh. I laughed and laughed and laughed. I called my friend and talked to him for a while and laughed. I fell asleep on the couch later on. When I awoke this morning I was calm. I had been praying to God for so long to take this pain away and today I am calm. I believe my prayers have been answered. I will not call her. KJ>KJ> My question to you is this. If you were in a similar KJ>KJ>situation, and a man you cared for did this kind of thing, how KJ>KJ>would you feel, what would you be thinking, and what would you do KJ>I'm not sure if you mean if a guy was treating me the way this girl KJ>is treating you, what would I do or if you mean if I was treating the KJ>guy the way this girl is treating you and he did what you did so I'll KJ>try to answer both ways. KJ>1. I have had a guy treat me that way and for a long time, I was KJ>here for him until I got tired of knocking my head against a brick KJ>wall. I realized that if he really cared about me the way he claimed KJ>he did, he would have dumped the other woman completely and have me KJ>and his friends keep her away from him so he wouldn't be bothered or KJ>scared of her. Well, that is how I felt. I was giving and giving and giving and receiving very little in return. KJ>2. First, I would NEVER treat a guy (or anyone for that matter) that KJ>way. I have had guys that liked me and wanted me to go out w/them by KJ>buying me things and it made me feel funny as I felt I didn't deserve KJ>it as we weren't a couple and I have always been up front about it. KJ>The thing I would do about it is give the gift back and sincerely KJ>tell him that I want him as a friend only therefore it wouldn't be KJ>right to accept the gift. Well, that one is a kicker, too. If all she wanted was a friend, why was she sleeping with me and stringing me along for months? It would have been easier to just let me go sooner instead of dragging it out for months the way she did, because she knew I was falling . KJ>Kurt? I don't know this girl and I don't know the whole story of why KJ>she's scared of this other guy, etc. but if I were you and a man did KJ>this to me as bad as she's doing, I would go on w/my life w/out him KJ>in it. I hope I've helped. Just don't drink over this, it's not worth KJ>it. Kitty, if you were me, you would be a man, and a woman would be doing this to you! :) Ha Ha Ha!!!!! Drinking is not an option. I haven't even considered it. I am going to go to the gym and work out today. I can hardly wait for spring time so I can get on my bicycle and ride. KJ>P.S. Let me know how things are going. Thank you for letting me try KJ>to help. :)). I will. If you don't mind, I would like to stay in touch with you, both in and outside of this echo. Do you have an internet e-mail address? A rheumatologist CAN help unless you have unacceptable side effects from low doses or cortisone. They inject the trigger points directly with tiny amounts of cortisone and procaine, and the pain relief can last up to six months. You do have to go to a rheumatologist to get this treatment, though; internists and orthopedists generally either don't know it exists or don't feel competent to do it. Good luck! I'm going to send you an article from the Massage Therapist Journal on treatment for Fibromayalgia. It's the only thing to come along that seems to work. It has to do with working with a good massage therapist to retrain the muscles which are locked in a pain/spasm cycle and have "forgotten" how to lengthen and relax. It's not a short term thing...but it has proven succesful in some major studies that are cited in the article. Elaine and Rain, if you're listening, there are copies on their way to you too.
